Hello Beautiful People!
I am going to share my memorable trip to another place here in the Philippines.
Luckily, I was chosen to represent Cebu City in a national seminar for 5 days. Our venue was in Iloilo City so I had a chance to visit this place. From Cebu City to Iloilo City, the travel time was 45 minutes by airplane.
After our seminar for 5 days, we had a chance to visit Iloilo's famous places and I am so excited to share it with you here.
Let's go and have fun!
ILOILO CITY
Iloilo is located in the middle of the Philippine archipelago and it is called the heart of the Philippines.
Aside from that, this is also known as the "City of Love". I wondered why this place is tagged as the City of Love. Then I found that people here are extra sweet and friendly. I can sense their tone of voice alone and their gesture.
Iloilo is also one of the cleanest provinces in the Philippines. When I was walking around their park, I couldn't see trash around the area.
Moreover, Iloilo has a lot to offer like delectable cuisine, ancient buildings, picturesque landscapes, beautiful beaches, and festivals.
MIAGAO CHURCH
The Saint Thomas of Villanova Church is located in the town of Miagao. This ancient church was built in the 17th century. It took us 30 minutes from our hotel to this place.
After our visit to some churches, we decided to go to our next destination.
THE FARM
Garin Farm is situated in the southernmost town of the Province of Iloilo. This place is a resort that integrates agriculture, leisure, and religion.
ENTRANCE FEE is 150 pesos.
As you enter the place you'll see the long pathway that is covered with vines with beautiful flowers.
The place is vast and you'll see poultry, livestock, and crops here. You can buy products like fresh eggs here and the farm supplies different buyers in Iloilo. I wasn't able to tour around the livestock farm since we only had short time here but on the way up I saw some animals from afar.
We stopped for a while at the Bahay Kubo since it was a bit hot.
THE LEISURE PARK
As you go up, you'll see a man-made lake. Here I took a picture of the beautiful Lotus. This place has restaurants too where you can eat and relax before going uphill. At this place, you'll experience different activities like kayaking, picnic and more.
THE PILGRIMAGE
Next to the leisure park is the Pilgrimage where you'll see traditional processional route symbolising the actual path Jesus walked to Mount Calvary.
This is the main highlight of our trip here. You'll have to climb the 456-step stairs for you to reach the big cross at the top. While climbing the stairs you'll see the stations of the cross.
Noah's Ark
456-step stairs to the cross
The birth of Jesus Christ
The Last Supper
Resurrection of Christ
DARK MEDITATION TUNNEL
Upon reaching the cross you will have to ascend and there you'll see a tunnel. As you enter a tunnel, you'll see a small light leading you to heaven. It is not the actual heaven but a representation of what is heaven. This place was made based on the different stories of people they have interviewed who once said that they have experienced heaven.
You'll have to follow the small light in the dark tunnel that leads you out to the brightest light -heaven. Once you are out of the tunnel, the angels are singing and welcoming you to the kingdom of God. All you can see here are the white colored statues.
Once you follow the stairs, you'll see the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
It was a great experience for me to be here. From the beautiful farm and leisure park to the pilgrimage where I experienced heaven on earth. It was such a wonderful experience that I will never forget.
