A new adventure takes us to the green heart of Cumaná: Guaquerí Park. I enjoy walking here because being in touch with nature brings a sense of calm, allowing me to momentarily disconnect from the hustle and bustle outside. I step away from my daily problems to reflect on other matters.
On this occasion, the plants and trees were turning green again; you could see the freshness in the leaves, and they even had droplets of water on them. I noticed that the edible fruits, high up in the trees, were already starting to become noticeable; mangoes and tamarinds were abundant along this route. You can tell that harvest time is approaching, and soon visitors will be able to enjoy these delicacies.
I also enjoyed listening to the songs of various birds flitting from tree to tree; the Cristofue and the cuckoos sweetened the atmosphere with their melodies. Meanwhile, the doves and black thrushes walked along the ground in search of food. During this walk, I also spotted two iguanas scurrying about—one young and the other adult.
As usual, there were many people in the park engaged in various activities: children playing, groups of friends gathering, and family celebrations, all in perfect harmony. This is how they make the most of the spaces in this recreational center—some resting on the grass and others in the shelters set up for that purpose.
Without a doubt, you can have a wonderful time here surrounded by greenery; the best part is letting your gaze wander to different spots, which allows you to notice details that might have gone unnoticed before. Every walk is an opportunity to discover them—including plants in bloom—which not only beautifies the surroundings but also nourishes the spirit.

Una nueva aventura nos sitúa en el pulmón vegetal de Cumaná: el parque Guaquerí, me agrada caminar por este lugar porque se siente cierta tranquilidad al estar en contacto con la naturaleza, lo que permite una desconexión momentánea del bullicio que se encuentra afuera, me alejo entonces de los problemas cotidianos para reflexionar sobre otros asuntos.
En esta ocasión las plantas y los árboles reverdecían, se podía apreciar esa frescura de las hojas, incluso tenían gotas de agua. Me fijé que las frutos comestibles, en lo alto de las matas, ya empezaban a hacerse notorios; los mangos y los tamarindos abundaron en este recorrido. Se nota que ya se acerca el tiempo de cosechar y así los visitantes podrán disfrutar de estas delicias.
También pude disfrutar del canto de varios pájaros que danzaban de un árbol a otro, los Cristofué y los cucaracheros endulzaban el ambiente con su melodía. Mientras que las tortolitas y los tordos negros caminaban por el suelo buscando algún alimento. En este paseo, además, observé a dos iguanas que se desplazaban a toda prisa, una joven y la otra adulta.
Como es costumbre había muchas personas en el parque, realizando diferentes actividades; niños jugando, reuniones de amigos y celebraciones familiares, todo en armonía perfecta. Así aprovechan los espacios de este centro recreativo, unos descansando en la grama y otros en las churuatas dispuestas para tal fin.
Sin duda, acá se puede pasar un momento agradable al estar rodeado de lo verde, lo maravilloso es fijar la mirada en diferentes sitios, lo que permite detallar ciertos elementos que antes pasaron desapercibidos. Cada paseo es una oportunidad para descubrirlos, incluso plantas que están en su proceso de floración, lo que no solo embellece el ambiente sino que alimenta el espíritu.
