Hi to all!
At the end of April, I had three days off and thanks to that I had the opportunity to visit Turin. I saw many interesting and notable places of this large and beautiful city. One of the prominent and world-famous is the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. This Basilica is known to all Christians of the world because the Shroud is kept here.

В кінці квітня я мала три дні вихідних і завдяки тому мала можливість відвідати Туріно. Я побачила багато цікавих та визначних місць цього великого за розміром та красою міста. Одним із визначних і відомих на весь світ є Базиліка Святого Івана Хрестителя. Ця Базиліка відома всім християнам світу тому, що тут зберігається Плащаниця.
The basilica was built on the site of three early Christian churches and is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. The church was built in the 15th century in the Renaissance style. Outside, the Basilica has a very restrained facade decorated with white marble. Inside, the Church is divided into three naves by marble columns.
Базиліка побудована на місці трьох ранньохристиянських церков і присвячена Святому Івану Хрестителю. Церква побудована в 15 столітті у стилі Відродження. Зовні Базиліка з дуже зі стриманим фасадом, що оздоблений білим мармуром. Всередині Церква розділена на три нефи мармуровими колонами.
Inside, the Basilica impresses with its beauty. The white marble columns dividing the church also support the ceiling. Each altar has wonderful paintings and sculptures made by famous Italian artists. The main motif in the church is the baptism of Jesus Christ by John the Baptist. As you can see in my photo, a bas-relief depicting this action is dedicated to this.
Всередині Базиліка вражає своєю красою. Мармурові білі колони, що розділяють церкву, також підтримують стелю. В кожному вівтарі чудові картини та скульптури виконані відомими італійськими митцями. Основним мотивом в церкві є хрещення Ісуса Христа Іваном Хрестителем. Як можна побачити на моєму фото, цьому присвячений барельєф, де зображено це дійство.
The Basilica of St. John the Baptist is known throughout the world. All Christians seek to come to Turin to worship this artifact, which miraculously got to the Turin Basilica in the 15th century and is preserved to this day. The shroud was kept folded in a dome that was built by a famous Italian architect
Guarino Guarini. In 1997, on the night of April 11-12, a terrible fire broke out and engulfed the entire Basilica. Rescuers arrived very quickly. The shroud was saved by a brave fireman who carried this valuable cloth out of the fire. Then the Shroud burned at the edges, but remained intact.
Now the Shroud is kept unfolded in a long sarcophagus made of bulletproof glass. I also want to say that the Shroud is stored without access to air and is not available for general inspection.
Базиліка Святого Івана Хрестителя відома у всьому світі. Всі християни прагнуть приїхати до Туріно щоб вклонитися цьому артефакту, що чудесним способом попав до Турінської Базиліки в 15 столітті і зберігається до сьогодні. Плащаниця зберігалася в складеному вигляді в куполі, який був побудований відомим італійським архітектором
Гуаріно Гуаріні. В 1997 році в ніч з 11 на 12 квітня виникла страшна пожежа, охопила всю Базиліку. Рятувальники прибули надшвидко. Плащаниця була врятована відважним пожежником, що виніс це цінне полотно з вогню. Тоді Плащаниця обгоріла по краях, але залишилася цілою.
Тепер Плащаницю зберігають в розгорнутому вигляді в довгому саркофазі, що виготовлений з куленепробивного скла. Також хочу сказати що Плащаниця зберігається без доступу повітря і не є доступною для всезагального огляду.
Entrance to the Shroud, as well as to the Basilica, is free. Everyone can come to bow their heads in front of the Christian shrine, where the whole suffering body of our Savior Jesus Christ, his blood and sweat, was imprinted in a miraculous divine way...
До плащаниці як і у Базиліку вхід вільний. Кожен може зайти щоб приклонити голову перед християнською святинею, де чудесним божественним способом відпечаталося все стражденне тіло нашого Спасителя Ісуса Христа, його кров і піт...
A copy of the Shroud of Turin, which was consecrated on the original and was presented to Ukraine by Pope John Paul II in 2005. We have one of ten consecrated copies, which is exhibited in the Cathedral of St. George in Lviv. Anyone who wishes can come and bow their heads in prayer before the witness of the death and resurrection of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
Now my Ukraine is bleeding like the wounds of Christ. Let's come and pray to the Lord for victory over the enemy and the resurrection of our land!
I am happy that I was able to visit Turin and visit the Basilica of John the Baptist to see the place where the Shroud has been stored for over 400 years.

Копія Туринської Плащаниці, що була освячена на оригіналі і у 2005 році була подарована Папою Іоаном Павлом ІІ Україні. Ми маємо одну з десяти освячений копій, яка виставлена у Соборі Святого Юра у Львові. Кожен бажаючий може прийти і в молитві схилити голову перед свідком смерті і воскресіння Сина Божого Ісуса Христа.
Зараз моя Україна кровоточить як рани Христа. Прийдімо і в молитві просімо Господа про перемогу над ворогом і воскресіння нашого краю!
Я щаслива, що змогла побувати в Торіно і відвідати Базиліку Іоана Хрестителя щоб побачити те місце депонад 400 років зберігається Плащаниця.
