En la tarde de ayer bajo el impetuoso sol marabino, decidí visitar un hermoso lugar emblemático de nuestra ciudad que se encuentra en todo el casco central de Maracaibo la Iglesia de Santa Bárbara hermoso lugar de gran historia, que forma parte del patrimonio cultural de nuestro país Venezuela y del estafó Zulia, es un templo católico de gran antigüedad por lo que posee aproximadamente unos 300 años se ha tratado de conservar su arquitectura y fachada externa, también recibe el nombre de Santuario Inmaculada Concepción

Esta iglesia se encuentra pintada de azul intenso y color blanco posee un estilo colonial que se asemeja a iglesías Europeas, tomada de iglesía italianas, es una iglesía iconica para los Zulianos ya que la Virgen de Chiquinquirá cuando realizo su aparición en la tablita, iba ser llevada a dicho templo pero se puso tan pesada que no pudo entrar.

En los laterales externos así como en la parte de atrás de la iglesia podemos apreciar su edificación y piedras, estos ladrillos junto con piedras que fueron obtenidas cercanas al lago de Maracaibo, es un patrimonio historico que se conserva con gran detalle, puesto que esto hace a esta iglesia un patrimonio arquitectónico, el teatro Baralt y algunas casas antiguas también poseen estas piedras y ladrillos.
