This was the second time I had been on a kayak that day, so I was a little more familiar with the controls and enjoyed it more. Just being able to push the oars in the direction you want to go doubled the fun at once.

Kayaking in Långholmen Kajak Club

Europe is now experiencing a heat wave, with days exceeding 35 degrees Celsius, especially in southern Europe.　Even in Sweden, which is in Northern Europe, this day broke the record as the hottest day of the year, with temperature exceeding 35 degrees Celsius.

It was a very rare day in Scandinavia, as it only reaches 35 degrees for a few days in a year.　The temperatures above 35 degrees reminded me of the hot and humid Asian summers we experience in Japan, and it was a great experience for me to experience such temperatures in Stockholm.

This time of year, before the corona infestation, friends and I took a kayaking tour around the Stockholm archipelago, and I decided to invite my friends to go kayaking again this year.

Stockholm is a city consisting of 14 archipelagos, and I went kayaking on one of them, the island of Långholmen.

It was especially hot that day, so I felt a very cool and pleasant breeze as I strolled on the water in my kayak.　I could feel the cool breeze coming from the water so pleasantly that I even dozed off as I swayed a bit in the kayak.

This was the second time I had explored the surface of the water in a kayak, and this time I had a good time, especially since the instructor taught me well and I was able to successfully explore on the surface of the water.　Last time, I wanted to go right but couldn't, and I wanted to go left but had to go right.

The kayak club we went to on Longholmen Island was very friendly and the instructor taught us well and we had a lot of fun.　On the day we went there, there were many foreign tourists and we could hear Italian and Spanish language.　It seems that many tourists are finally visiting Stockholm this summer, and each one was having a good summer time.

Once you receive instruction from the instructor, all you need to do is put on your life vest and get in your kayak to begin your exploration.　I chose to explore in a two-person kayak.　It was a particularly hot day, and many people were bathing on the beach of Longholmen Island.　It took us two hours to go around Longholmen Island, and we had a great time kayaking and talking with many of our friends during that time.　I am looking forward to enjoying the rest of the summer in Scandinavia.

ロングホルメン島でカヤックしてきた

今、欧州は熱波に見舞われていて、南欧州を中心に３５度を超える日が続いているようです。　北欧であるスウェーデンでもこの日は１年の中で一番暑い日を更新し、３５度を超える気温になりました。

北欧で３５度になることは一年でも数日の為、この日はとても珍しい一日になりました。　３５度を超えると日本で経験する蒸し暑いアジアの夏を思い出し、ストックホルム市内でこのような気温を経験するとは思いもせず、とても良い経験ンいなりました。

この時期、コロナが蔓延する前に友人と一緒にカヤックを使ってストックホルム群島をめぐるツアーに参加したのですが、今年も友人を誘ってカヤックをしに行くことにしました。

ストックホルムは１４の群島からなる町なのですが、その１つの島、ロングホルメン島へカヤックにしに行きました。

この日は特に暑かったので、カヤックに乗って水面を散策していると、とても涼しく心地よい風を感じることが出来ました。　カヤックに乗り、少し揺れているとうとうとと眠気すら感じるほど、気持ちの良い水面からくる冷たい風を感じることができました。

カヤックに乗って水面を散策したのはこの日が２回目だったのですが、今回は特にインストラクターがしっかりと教えてくれてうまく水面で散策が出来て楽しい時間を過ごせました。　前回は右に進みたいのにすすめず、左に進みたいのに右に進むといった自分の中でオールの漕ぎ方と進行方向が逆になっていたのですが、今回はそういったこともあまり起こらずカヤックを楽しむことが出来ました。

今回行った、ロングホルメン島のカヤッククラブはとても親切で、インストラクターもしっかりと教えてくれてとても楽しめました。　わたし達がいった日は、たくさんの海外からの観光客も来ていて、イタリヤ語やスペイン語が聞こえてきました。　この夏はやっとストックホルムにもたくさんの観光客が訪れているようで、各々が楽しい夏の時間を過ごしていました。

インストラクターからの指導を受けると、後はライフベストを装着してカヤックに乗り散策が開始します。　わたしは二人乗りのカヤックを選択して散策することにしました。　この日は特に暑かったこともあり、ロングホルメン島の海岸にはたくさんの人が海水浴に来ていて、水浴びを楽しんでいました。　２時間あればロングホルメン島も一周でき、その間友達をたくさんカヤックをしながら話が出来て、とても良い時間が過ごせました。　残り少ない北欧の夏を満喫したいと思います。
