This is a stark contrast in our country (Philippines) where I am constantly frustrated by people just throwing their trash anywhere like candy wrappers
It has much to do with the behavioral aspect of the individual and the society thereof. Japanese are known for their modesty and they know how to manifest it in cleanliness.
