Situated on a hill, initially intended as a defensive palace, it was built in 1589 for Baron Botho zu Eulenburg.
Usytuowany na wzniesieniu, mający początkowo pełnić funkcję obronną pałacyk wybudowany został w 1589 roku dla barona Botho zu Eulenburga.
This is one of the few examples of Renaissance buildings in the former East Prussia.

The entire palace complex is surrounded by a moat, and the only access to the palace was a drawbridge. In 1745, a granary was erected right in front of the entrance gate to the palace, which is one of the few buildings of this type in Warmia and Mazury.
