Before we went to visit the Freddie Mercury Museum, we decided to take a look at the Old Fort, which is also one of the attractions of the capital of Zanzibar - Stone Town.

Old Fort in English, Old Fort, and in Arabic (Ngome Kongwe), was built in the years 1698-1701 on the site of a Portuguese church from the 16th / 17th century. In the 19th century there was a prison here, the fort served as a warehouse and even as tennis courts for women.
