Delaware Botanical Gardens

We live about 30 minutes from Delaware Botanical Gardens and finally decided to visit there for the first time today. It was a really windy day on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, but the weather was still nice and Spring-like. There weren't a whole lot of flowers bloomed yet, but I honestly was more excited about the forest part of the garden. It had soft mulch paths lined with logs of wood that formed a maze-like pattern among the many acres of the garden. Throughout the wooded area, there were various whimsical statues made of wood and logs. They were labeled on the map and it made a fun game for young kids to search the forest looking for them. One of my favorites was the Medusa statue. This statue holds a black snake. Ironically, after seeing her, we happened to see a real-live black snake inside a hollow tree branch as we were walking the path. It was certainly a peaceful walk.
