Pero ya estoy de vuelta a casa, quiero contarles todas mis experiencias en esta bella ciudad y los lugares que conocí. Medellín es llamada por sus habitantes como: La Perla de Colombia.
Hello Hivers! I'm back to Hive. I had a little 5-day vacation as I was telling you in my previous posts: First (1) , Second (2). But now that I'm back home, I want to tell you all about my experiences in this beautiful city and the places I visited. Medellin is called by its inhabitants as: The Pearl of Colombia.

En primer lugar el 8 de septiembre, luego del medio día tomamos un taxi desde nuestra ciudad San Cristóbal hasta la ciudad de San Antonio, municipio Bolívar, ubicada en la frontera de Venezuela con Colombia por el Estado Táchira. Ese día tomamos una autobús hasta los Patios que era el lugar de nuestro hospedaje por esa noche. Al día siguiente nos despertamos a las 4:30 A.M y tomamos un taxi desde los Patios hasta el aeropuerto Camilo Daza en Cúcuta al Norte de Santander - Colombia. Nuestro vuelo despegaba a las 7 A.M, es por eso que llegamos 2 horas antes, para prever cualquier eventualidad. Llegue a las 8 A.M con mi amigo y colega Wilkins, el 9 de septiembre a Medellín, Antioquía - Colombia, con un bolso de mano y ropa solo para 5 días.
First, on September 8, after noon we took a cab from our city San Cristobal to the city of San Antonio, Bolivar municipality, located on the border of Venezuela with Colombia through the state of Tachira. That day we took a bus to Los Patios which was the place of our lodging for the night. The next day we woke up at 4:30 A.M. and took a cab from Los Patios to the Camilo Daza airport in Cúcuta in Norte de Santander - Colombia. Our flight was scheduled to take off at 7 A.M., so we arrived 2 hours earlier, to foresee any eventuality. I arrived at 8 A.M. with my friend and colleague Wilkins, on September 9 in Medellin, Antioquia - Colombia, with a carry-on bag and clothes for only 5 days.
Aterrizamos en el Aeropuerto Internacional José María Córdova, ubicado en Rionegro, Antioquia, Colombia, aproximadamente a 40 minutos de Medellín en un autobús de la línea Combuses y de 15 a 30 minutos en taxi dependiendo del trafico en la entrada de Medellín. Nosotros llegamos al aeropuerto y empezamos a buscar un sitio donde pudiéramos desayunar. Y encontramos a la popular cafetería Juan Valdez. Pedí un pastel de pollo con champiñones y este estaba delicioso y de tomar un jugo de naranja. Los precios de sus productos son un poco altos. Así que si tu quieres ahorrar, es mejor esperar a llegar a Medellín si no tienes tanta hambre.
We landed at the José María Córdova International Airport, located in Rionegro, Antioquia, Colombia, approximately 40 minutes from Medellín on a Combuses bus and 15 to 30 minutes by cab depending on the traffic at the entrance to Medellín. We arrived at the airport and started looking for a place where we could have breakfast. We found the popular cafeteria Juan Valdez. I ordered a chicken and mushroom pie and it was delicious and an orange juice. The prices of their products are a bit high. So if you want to save money, it is better to wait until you get to Medellín if you are not that hungry.
Nosotros tomamos la opción más económica de salir del aeropuerto y llegar a Medellín. Pagamos 13.000 pesos colombianos por cada pasaje y viajamos en el autobús de la Línea Combuses, la verdad son bastante cómodos y llegamos en 40 minutos a nuestra ciudad destino, Medellín. Aquí les muestro una foto pisando tierras Paisas en el primer momento que nos bajamos del bus.
We took the cheapest option of leaving the airport and arriving in Medellin. We paid 13,000 Colombian pesos for each ticket and traveled on the Combuses Line bus, the truth is that they are quite comfortable and we arrived in 40 minutes to our destination city, Medellin. El Bus nos dejo en San Diego y de allí fuimos a la estación del metro más cercana para ir a nuestro hospedaje en el sector del Poblado. Nos quedamos en la estación Poblado, pensando que esta iba a estar cerca de donde nos íbamos a quedar, sin embargo no fue así. Teníamos que quedarnos en la estación Aguacatala, pero por no investigar bien, nos toco que caminar y tomar un bus para llegar a nuestro dulce hogar por unas 4 noches y 5 días.

En el hostal nos estaban esperando nuestras amigas @evelynchacin y @esthefanychacin para ir a almorzar, así que llegamos nos registramos en la recepción y pasamos a nuestras habitaciones para dejar nuestros bolsos y salir a almorzar. Fuimos caminando a un centro comercial cercano donde vendían almuerzos ejecutivos y allí decidimos almorzar por recomendación de nuestro amigo José que vive en Medellín y trabaja cerca de este lugar.
At the hostel our friends @evelynchacin and @esthefanychacin were waiting for us to go to lunch, so we arrived we checked in at the reception and went to our rooms to leave our bags and go to lunch. We walked to a nearby mall where they sold executive lunches and there we decided to have lunch on the recommendation of our friend Jose who lives in Medellin and works near this place.
Luego de almorzar, mis amigos y yo fuimos caminando a un centro comercial cercano llamado Santa Fe y recorrimos sus instalaciones. Tenía un jardín muy bonito en el centro y había gran variedad de tiendas, desde nacionales hasta internacionales, con productos y de todas las marcas y calidades. Yo estaba muy feliz de poder compartir este día con ellos y de construir hermosos momentos.
After lunch, my friends and I walked to a nearby shopping mall called Santa Fe and toured its facilities. It had a very nice garden in the center and there was a great variety of stores, from national to international, with products of all brands and qualities. I was very happy to be able to share this day with them and build beautiful moments.
Finalmente, luego de ir al centro comercial, nos regresamos a casa caminando para ir a tomar un baño, descansar y prepararnos para conocer a Medellín de noche. Finally, after going to the mall, we walked back home to take a bath, rest and get ready to get to know Medellin by night. In my next post I will tell you what my friends and I did on our first day, when the evening fell and the nightlife of this beautiful city began. See you soon!
