This beautiful scenery belongs to Mussoorie, India and I went there to know and explore about the Happy Valley. I have heard from people that it offers beautiful view of the Himalayas and the valley around. To know how much information was true I started to explore. Surprisingly I came to know that there is a Buddhist monastery nearby and it's open for tourists. That's the only information I knew and without thinking much I entered the monestry.
As I entered the gate, I witnessed the majestic outlook of the Himalayas. The day was cloudy and the sun was about to set. It was a parking area but for the view I can spend hours here.
Then I found another gate, which was quite colourful with unique architecture. This was the main gate to the monestry.
The monestry is situated on the top of Happy Valley, far away from the hustle bustle of the city. The boundary of the monestry was covered properly with the beautiful wall that have painting and some messages in it.
Each painting represents something such as the lotus and the golden fish. Also an whole explanation was there too on the wall.
Surprisingly I found another gate that I have to go through to enter the main area, stupid me though I'm already in. But as soon as I entered the gate, the energy changed. Everything was peaceful and calm and the environment seemed so welcoming.
I only had a step inside and I knew that something is special about this place.
The monestry
The first thing I noticed was the architect of the monestry, it was uniquely amazing. I heard people saying that it features traditional Tibetan architecture. Well it's true that old is gold.
The main reason why monestry is here is cause of large Tibetan community living in the surroundings. They host various religious and cultural events here.
Here I'm posing in front of the monastery.
It was time to go inside and gain knowledge about the Tibetan culture. There was a statue of Budha in the centre and the aura of the place was something else. You can feel calmness inside you, all your stress and worry vanishes and you gain some strength.
To feel it by yourself you need to visit the the top of Happy Valley.
The Buddha Statue
From inside, the monestry was covered various status of Budha and some vibrant paintings. These paintings represents different Buddhist dieties and teachings.
It was spacious and perfect for doing meditation and inner engineering. I loved the serene and spiritual atmosphere of the place.
The wall of the monestry contains information about the Tibetan culture and about the history of the monestry. It was established back in 1960 and somehow it surprises me that the architecture game was on point back then.
The colour of the monestry bring joy inside you and fill you with love and happiness. It was decorated with candles and flowers and the fragrance of incense stick was to dye for.
As beautiful as it seemed from inside, it was from outside too.
The Prayer Wheel
I saw a big prayer wheel which has which has some spiritual purpose and it is believed that it symbolizes the cycle of life. Everyone is here for limited amount of time so it teaches to stay humble, devoted and mindful.
You can see mantra written on it it's'Om Mani Padme Hum'. It is believed that you get lost of spiritual benefits by spinning it so I spinned it and it was fun. There was a bell on the top which rings everytime when you complete one circle.
Stupa
Here is the stupa of the monestry, people pray and meditate here as long as they want. This monestry is famous destination place at Mussoorie and attracts tourists cause of its unique architecture and colourful interrior.
There were lots of community centre and areas specially designed for the purpose of meditation and reflection. Here I meditated for 10 minutes and I met new me. As you all know the importance of meditation, so try to meditate in peaceful space whenever you have time. It has magical benefits both mentally and physically.
The monestry provide a serene view of the Himalayas and posting pictures here brings back the foul memories of the day. Ah! It was amazing.
I ended that day with the lovely sunset and tried to capture those views in my memories more than in my camera. For the record, I have taken these pictures with my phone samsung galaxy S21 ultra. Here I'm ending this blog with the hope that you like it.
See you soon.
