Hello Hive community!
Today I'm sharing a new adventure with you. As you can already see from the title, today I will talk about the hike to Mount Rodica.
It is a mountain 1966 m high in the Lower Bohinj Mountains in the southern part of the Julian Alps. It lies in the Triglav National Park on the border between Bohinj and Primorska.
We started at 7 a.m. from a village called Rut. The weather was warm so we were already wearing shorts and t-shirts. We walked along the forest path, and there were trees around us, the smell of pines reminded us of the seeside.
The hike takes about two hours. At the beginning, the path is a little steep, then it continues nicely along the macadam path. We met few people, even they were already looking forward to the top of the mountain. A cold wind began to blow below the peak, which really gave the feeling of the highlands.
We reached the top in an hour and a half. When we wrote our names in the registration book, we saw that we were the first up today. The view of other mountains and valleys is truly divine. Triglav, which is the highest mountain in Slovenia, was unfortunately already covered in fog. Due to the cold wind, we decided to have our little lunch a little below the peak.
We got a perfect spot with an equally beautiful view. We always have sardines with vegetables for lunch, it has become our tradition. For any of you, fish with vegetables is the perfect combination for a lunch in the mountains?😄
Yesterday I also baked muffins made from oatmeal, flax seeds, honey, and dark chocolate. It was a super energizing dessert for a successful achievement.
After eating and drinking lemonade, we slowly headed home. We walked slowly and enjoyed the sunny day. I am happy that we reached a new peak today. I hope you like my post. See you in the next one.
I wish you a nice rest of the weekend
Maja
