SWAT VALLEY

Swat valley is called the Switzerland of Pakistan. It is located in the north of Pakistan. Every year millions of tourists visit Swat, especially in summer. The Swat valley attracts visitors towards itself because of scenery sites, crystal clear lakes, waterfalls and majestic mountains. In summer it provides an escape from heat while in winter it becomes a magical wonderland.

Magical mountains and valleys

Swat is home to verdant valleys. It includes Mingora valley, kalam valley, and Madyan valley. These valleys are surrounded by mountains and carpeted with greenery. This scenery makes a popular spot for picnics and nature walks.

Crystal Clear Lake

Swat valley possesses several stunning lakes which enhance its natural beauty. Famous lakes include Mahudand lake, Kandol lake, spin khwar lake (less known by tourist due to hard track).

Historical significance

Swat valley has a tremendous history. It has ancient civilization. It was once a center of Buddhism, stupas and monasteries. The ancient remains can be found in the Muesum. The most famous site is the Butkara stupas near Mingora which dates back to Ashoka emperor. Swat was a separate state from Pakistan, they have a king which used to rule on the beautiful land. In 1969 the king of swat declared that from now onwards this state will be a part of Pakistan and it emerges as a district in province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under Malakand division.

Waterfalls and rivers

Swat valley has its own river named by Swat River that flows through valley offering beautiful spots for fishing, rafting and photography. The riverbank is lined with trees and fields that attract tourists to stay there for a while. Besides these, it has some astonishing waterfalls like Jarogo waterfall that is evidence of this beautiful valley.

White palace

The king of Swat had made a palace for his family in the middle of mountains covered with forest in his time. He used to go there in the evening for tea and spend quality time in the nature. Now this place is also a tourist spot. This is my favorite spot in the whole valley. I love to spend evenings there. The gentle breeze with melodies of birds and sound of water flowing in the stream always made me stay here and enjoy nature with a cup of tea.

Kalam village

Kalam is a town surrounded by mountains and forest. In the mid kalam river flows which is melted water of glaciers. Kalam contains Ushu forest and Mahudand lake, Shahi Bagh, blue water, meadows and glaciers. This is the coldest part of Swat valley. It possesses a mosque which have great architecture made up of woods. The night view of kalam made visitors think about nature.

Malam Jabba

Malam Jabba is the top spot of swat valley which height is approximately 9 thousand feets.it is home to ski resort. This ski resort is fruit of collaborative effort between Pakistan and Austrian counterpart. Tourists experience the chair left of 1.5km and zipline. The newly installed zipline is 1000 feet elevated and 2000 feet long.

Gebben Jabba

Gebben Jabba is newly discovered top in Swat valley. In Madyan the left side road led tourists to reach Gebben Jabba. This place is full of greenery, waterfalls and gardens of peaches. Jarogo waterfall is near to it with a hike 20-30 minutes. A beautiful trout fish farm is present in this region. Trout fish is unique which only survives in cold temperatures and has a delicious taste.
