Hoy les voy a contar mi viaje de 19 Horas para llegar al Estado Amazonas desde Caracas - Venezuela. Como todo viaje por tierra comienzo así, con el boleto de autobús, en este caso de la línea Expreso San Fernando, con Sucursal en el Terminal de la Bandera. Al ser un viaje tan largo, tuvimos que hacer escala y se los iré mostrando por tramos. Lo primero fue desplazarnos a la ciudad de San Fernando - Estado Apure y luego tomar otro autobús a la ciudad de Puerto Ayacucho - Estado Amazonas.

Lugar de partida: Terminal la bandera- Distrito Capital.
Lugar de destino 1: San Fernando - Estado Apure.
Lugar de destino Final: Puerto Ayacucho - Estado Amazonas

Today I am going to tell you about my 19-hour trip to reach the Amazonas State from Caracas - Venezuela. Like any trip by land, it begins like this, with the bus ticket, in this case for the Expreso San Fernando line, with a branch at Terminal de la Bandera. Being such a long trip, we had to make a stopover and I will show them to you in sections. The first thing was to go to the city of San Fernando - State of Apure and then take another bus to the city of Puerto Ayacucho - State of Amazonas.

Place of departure: Terminal la bandera- Capital District.

Destination 1: San Fernando - Apure State.

Final destination: Puerto Ayacucho - Amazonas State

Lo primero fue desplazarnos de nuestro hogar al Terminal La bandera, ubicado en la zona de Caracas - Distrito capital. Este es uno de los terminales más usados en toda Caracas, ya que es donde se encuentran concentradas la mayor cantidad de líneas de transporte que se dirigen al interior del país.

The first thing was to move from our home to Terminal La Bandera, located in the area of Caracas - Capital District. This is one of the most used terminals in all of Caracas, since it is where the largest number of transport lines that go to the interior of the country are concentrated.

Como pueden ver, acá está el famoso cartel donde todos los viajeros suelen tomarse fotos antes de partir a su destino, esto debido a que es una de las zonas más limpias y elegantes del terminal, sin mencionar lo representativo que se vuelve enviar una foto desde acá, evoca viaje y libertad.

As you can see, here is the famous poster where all travelers usually take photos before leaving for their destination, this is because it is one of the cleanest and most elegant areas of the terminal, not to mention how representative it becomes to send a photo from here, it evokes travel and freedom.

Por la gran cantidad de personas que estábamos viajando debido a las épocas navideñas, se me complicó un poco mostrarles las instalaciones interiores, aunque podemos apreciar un gran espacio y mucha luminosidad, lo que da la sensación de limpieza que se suele agradecer al momento de pasar tiempo en salas de espera como esta. Normalmente se encuentran sillas a lo largo de todo el espacio, pero debido a la gran concentración de personas, fueron retiradas, así que había que hacer fila de pie para el registro de las maletas.

Due to the large number of people who were traveling due to the Christmas season, it was a bit complicated for me to show them the interior facilities, although we can appreciate a large space and a lot of light, which gives the sensation of cleanliness that is usually appreciated when passing by. time in waiting rooms like this. Normally there are chairs throughout the space, but due to the large concentration of people, they were removed, so you had to stand in line to check your bags.

Luego de haber hecho la fila para el registro de equipaje y una vez la encargada de logística te pasa a la siguiente sala, cada pasajero deja su maleta para ser embarcada y sea revisada por las autoridades, asegurando así que no llevemos armas de fuego o cualquier objeto que pueda atentar con la vida de cualquier persona. Debo decir que normalmente no hay un control tan estricto al respecto, aunque para ese momento el gobierno de Venezuela había implementado un plan llamado "Navidades seguras 2021".

After having queued for baggage registration and once the logistics manager takes you to the next room, each passenger leaves their suitcase to be loaded and checked by the authorities, thus ensuring that we do not carry firearms or any object that can threaten the life of any person. I must say that normally there is not such a strict control in this regard, although by that time the government of Venezuela had implemented a plan called "Safe Christmas 2021".

Luego de haber pasado el control de seguridad, pasamos a la zona de embarque, en nuestro boleto aparece el número de pasillo donde se detiene nuestro autobús, en mi caso fue el pasillo número 12.

After having passed the security control, we went to the boarding area, on our ticket the number of the aisle where our bus stops appears, in my case it was aisle number 12.

Algo que tienen los terminales públicos es que no embarcan ellos mismos tu equipaje, sino que uno mismo debe colocarlo en el maletero del autobús antes de subirse. Recomiendo llevar cosas frágiles y de valor en un bolso de mano que podamos llevar siempre con nosotros.

Something that public terminals have is that they do not load your luggage themselves, but you must place it yourself in the trunk of the bus before getting on. I recommend carrying fragile and valuable things in a handbag that we can always carry with us.

Entre muchas otras cosas, una cámara de seguridad en el pasillo del autobús me resultó curioso, eso sin mencionar que en todas partes decía "@GinethChira123". Curioso ¿verdad?

Al entrar, podemos apreciar el sistema de aire acondicionado, los compartimientos cerrados para colocar el equipaje de mano y los asientos bastante limpios y cómodos.

Algo también curioso o al menos para mí que no suelo viajar tanto, es una especie de reposa piernas que hay justo delante de cada asiento, posiblemente sea una cosa muy insignificante para algunos, aunque si el viaje es largo realmente se agradece.

Something also curious or at least for me who do not usually travel so much, is a kind of leg rest that is right in front of each seat, possibly a very insignificant thing for some, although if the trip is long it is really appreciated.

Luego de unas horas de viaje, pasamos por nuestro primer peaje, este concretamente ubicado en el Estado Guárico, donde se debe pagar por pasar una cantidad desde 1,00 Bs.D si vas en carro particular, hasta 40,00 Bs.D si se trata de un camión de carga pesada. Se supone que ese dinero se utiliza para gastos de vialidad, pero debo decir que las carreteras están bastante accidentadas.

After a few hours of travel, we go through our first toll, this one specifically located in the Guárico State, where you must pay to pass an amount from 1.00 Bs.D if you go by private car, up to 40.00 Bs.D if It is a heavy cargo truck. That money is supposed to be used for road expenses, but I must say that the roads are quite rough.

El siguiente punto de control, unas horas más tarde fue lo que conocemos como Alcabalas, estos son puntos de control militar de la guardia nacional Bolivariana, antiguamente funcionaban como el peaje que pasamos en el estado Guárico, pero desconozco porque no funciona de esa manera hoy en día. Acá no tenía mucha señal en mi celular, así que no pude marcar el punto en el mapa

The next checkpoint, a few hours later, was what we know as Alcabalas, these are military checkpoints of the Bolivarian National Guard, they used to work like the toll that we passed in the Guárico state, but I don't know why it doesn't work that way today in day. Here I did not have much signal on my cell phone, so I could not mark the point on the map.

Luego de exactamente 5 horas de viaje, llegamos a una parada en Los dos caminos - estado Guárico. Acá paramos una media hora a estirar las piernas y a comprar algo de comida, yo me llevé un pan relleno de pollo así que solo estiré las piernas.

After exactly 5 hours of travel, we arrive at a stop at Los dos caminos - Guárico state. We stopped here for half an hour to stretch our legs and buy some food, I took a bun stuffed with chicken so I just stretched my legs.

Acá tengo que hacer un pequeño paréntesis y hacer notar algo importante, si tu viajas constantemente por trabajo o placer, creo que lo mejor es llevar tu propia comida, esto debido a dos razones, la primera es que en todas las paradas la mayoría de las comidas que venden son fritas o comida rápida como es este puesto de perros calientes y la otra es que en tiempos de pandemia debemos cuidarnos del virus y comer en un puesto por donde pasan unas 3000 personas por noche no creo que sea una buena idea.

Luego de varias horas más de viaje, donde debo decir que pasé la mayor parte del tiempo durmiendo, llegamos al terminal de San Fernando - Estado Apure, acá no pude tomar muchas fotos, debido que nada más bajar, embarcamos en el autobús que nos llevaría por la siguiente etapa de nuestro viaje.

After several more hours of travel, where I must say that I spent most of the time sleeping, we arrived at the terminal in San Fernando - State of Apure, here I could not take many photos, because as soon as we got off, we boarded the bus that would take us for the next stage of our journey.

Esto solo pasa en Venezuela, luego de una supervisión rápida en un punto de control, pude ver un hermoso cielo donde se esperaba un hermoso amanecer y además de eso, una gallina y un gallo caminando.

This only happens in Venezuela, after a quick supervision at a checkpoint, I could see a beautiful sky where a beautiful sunrise was expected and in addition to that, a chicken and a rooster walking.

Unas cuantas horas de sueño después, llegamos al rio Orinoco, rio que debemos atravesar sin utilizar un puente, sino que montaremos en esa plataforma que ven al fondo, lo llamamos Chalana.

A few hours of sleep later, we arrive at the Orinoco River, a river that we must cross without using a bridge, but we will ride on that platform that you see at the bottom, we call it Chalana.

Por seguridad, todos los pasajeros bajamos de los autobuses mientras ellos embarcan en la chalana, luego nosotros también subimos y comienza el recorrido.

For safety, all the passengers get off the buses while they board the barge, then we also get on and the tour begins.

Ahora les explicaré el mecanismo, primero está la plataforma larga de metal donde se montarán los autobuses, luego podemos ver esta parte de la torre de control, donde se encuentra un capitán a cargo de manejar un gran y potente motor que arrastra todo el conjunto a través del rio. Utiliza esos cauchos para que en el proceso de arrastre no ocurran choques bruscos que puedan dañar la coraza de alguna de las embarcaciones.

Luego de cruzar el imponente rio Orinoco para llegar el territorio de Amazonas, se repite el proceso de embarque, solo que a la inversa, es decir, bajamos los pasajeros caminando y luego bajan los autobuses. Aún nos quedan 4 horas de viaje llegados a este punto.

After crossing the imposing Orinoco River to reach the territory of Amazonas, the boarding process is repeated, only in reverse, that is, we get off the passengers walking and then the buses get off. We still have 4 hours of travel left at this point.

Y al fin llegamos al terminal de Puerto Ayacucho - Estado Amazonas, acá no tomé muchas fotos tampoco, honestamente ya me sentía muy cansada por el viaje como para recorrer el sitio y si notan lo agrietado del asfalto se podrán imaginar el calor que hace. Simplemente esperamos a que nos vinieran a recoger.

And finally we arrived at the terminal of Puerto Ayacucho - Amazonas State, here I did not take many photos either, honestly I already felt too tired from the trip to go through the site and if you notice how cracked the asphalt is you can imagine how hot it is. We just waited for them to pick us up.

Ya al llegar a esta plaza sabemos que llegamos todos a nuestro destino, simplemente con ver las palabras de Puerto Ayacucho y el monumento en su representación se siente una fuerte sensación de descanso y piensas "Al fin".

When we arrive at this square we know that we have all reached our destination, simply by seeing the words of Puerto Ayacucho and the monument in its representation, you feel a strong sense of rest and you think "Finally".

A pesar de que Amazonas es un estado turístico, no deja de ser un pueblo pequeño alejado de las grandes ciudades, lo que quiere decir que lamentándolo mucho, gran parte de su territorio se encuentra abandonado, como lo muestra ese poste eléctrico y ese cartel oxidado, aunque una ventaja es que las carreteras están mejor que las de muchas ciudades.

Despite the fact that Amazonas is a tourist state, it is still a small town far from the big cities, which means that much of its territory is abandoned, as shown by that electric pole and that rusty sign. , although one advantage is that the roads are better than those of many cities.

Nada más llegar me encuentro con esto, mi tía nos había preparado un recibimiento 5 estrellas, pescado frito con arroz y mañoco. El mañoco es un sub-producto de la yuca amarga y se consume en todo el territorio amazonense, se le da un uso parecido al cuscús en otros países.

Upon arrival I find this, my aunt had prepared us a 5-star welcome, fried fish with rice and mañoco. The mañoco is a by-product of the bitter yucca and is consumed throughout the Amazonian territory, it is used in a similar way to couscous in other countries.

Ya estando establecidos y habiendo comido, salimos a las calles a comprar la comida que necesitaríamos para nuestra estadía. Una de las primeras cosas que compramos fue mas pescado, ya que al ser un territorio pesquero es más barato y la frescura está garantizada. En este caso fuimos a un puesto callejero ubicado justamente acá.

Already being established and having eaten, we went out to the streets to buy the food that we would need for our stay. One of the first things we bought was more fish, since being a fishing territory it is cheaper and freshness is guaranteed. In this case we went to a street stall located right here.

También dimos un pequeño recorrido por el Paseo Artures, esto debido a que nos quedaba de camino, sin mencionar que nuestros cuerpos aún estaban calientes por el viaje, sabíamos que al enfriarnos íbamos a caer rendidos por varios días. Pido disculpas por la claridad en la imagen, el sol daba justo de frente y fue difícil conseguir una buena foto.

We also took a short tour of Paseo Artures, this because it was on the way, not to mention that our bodies were still warm from the trip, we knew that when we cooled down we were going to fall asleep for several days. El paseo es básicamente un espacio de áreas verdes, donde también se encuentra un pequeño parque para niños, espacios para andar en bicicleta y demás zonas recreativas. Es bastante bonito y limpio, aunque caminar de día se hace imposible debido al extremo calor y de noche tal vez sea un poco inseguro por la falta de luz, así que si, es bonito y es buena idea, pero lamentándolo mucho poco transitado.

The promenade is basically a space of green areas, where there is also a small park for children, spaces for biking and other recreational areas. It is quite beautiful and clean, although walking during the day is impossible due to the extreme heat and at night it may be a bit unsafe due to the lack of light, so yes, it is beautiful and it is a good idea, but unfortunately little traffic.

Paramos en una tienda a comprar un poco de Carbón, el cual pagamos en Pesos Colombianos, ya que al ser el Estado Amazonas uno de los estados fronterizos, suele recibir visita de Colombianos. Que traen su moneda para pagar su estadía en el pueblo, todo comerciante coloca los precios de sus productos en Pesos Colombianos lo que es bastante curioso para mí que estoy acostumbrada a ver los precios en dólares.

We stopped at a store to buy some coal, which we paid in Colombian pesos, since Amazonas State is one of the border states, it usually receives visits from Colombians. They bring their currency to pay for their stay in the town, every merchant puts the prices of their products in Colombian pesos, which is quite curious for me, who is used to seeing prices in dollars.

Justo cuando estábamos por volver a casa, mi padre recibe una llamada y le dan la noticia que unos primos se unirán a la aventura y que también llegarán a casa de mi tía, así que pasamos nuevamente por donde Felipe a comprar más pescado. No sé si se llama así, aunque su amabilidad y buenos precios me hizo ponerle un nombre, si alguna vez le compran pescado, enséñenle este post.

Just when we were about to return home, my father receives a call and they give him the news that some cousins will join the adventure and that they will also arrive at my aunt's house, so we go back to Felipe's to buy more fish. Ahora sí, nuestro recorrido estaba listo, teníamos los suministros necesarios para pasar varios días. Aunque camino a casa de mi tía vimos esto, una empresa productora de hielo llamada Hielo Alaska, es la que hoy en día surte hielo a todas las licorerías de la zona y a mí me hizo recordar que acá frecuentemente hay cortes de energía eléctrica y muchas familias conservan sus alimentos en hielo.

Now yes, our route was ready, we had the necessary supplies to spend several days. Although on the way to my aunt's house we saw this, an ice-producing company called Ice Alaska, is the one that nowadays supplies ice to all the liquor stores in the area and it reminded me that here there are frequent power outages and many families keep their food on ice
