The cultural celebration of which I speak is the day and night procession of the holy sepulcher of Villa de Cura, cultural heritage of the place and representation of the Catholic faith of all Venezuela, one of the largest in the country, and certainly one of the most beautiful, so if you profess the Catholic faith, certainly a beautiful place to visit during Holy Week.
Although I no longer live there, Villa de Cura was my birthplace and home for 9 years, there I took my first steps, I knew my first squares and had my first friends, besides that I also had my first approach to the faith and the revival of a whole town before what is considered as "the celebration of Easter week".
The truth during my childhood there were so many stories that the grandparents of the town told me that to know the reality is almost impossible, the most repeated story is the arrival of the image of the Holy Body approximately in the XVIII century, when by mistake it arrived to the municipality of Zamora, apparently the image of the Holy Sepulcher and the image of the Nazarene of Achaguas came from Spain but had another address, however by mistake they ended up in both places. Was it the destiny?
The people of Villa de Cura were actually expecting another image, but this beautiful, giant and well detailed image of the Lord Jesus Christ in the sepulcher came to give them what is known as "the great blessing". They say that since its arrival the whole town had peace, health, harmony and the beautiful valley lived in blessing. The truth is that the Holy body in the tomb has been in procession for more than 100 years on Good Fridays every year, adorned with beautiful purple ribbons and lights that shine with the candles of the faithful who accompany it.

Currently the so-called "house of the Holy Sepulcher" is the place where the image rests, it is visited throughout the year by the faithful from all over the world, it is a pleasant place, full of a pleasant, fresh, blessed atmosphere, where there is a lot of light and peace.
This house has a very interesting history for Venezuelans, since this place belonged to General José tomas Boves in the times of battles for the independence of the country, it is even said that it was the place where he hid before leaving to the Venezuelan plains to continue the fight.

At the beginning of the holy week, flowers and all the gifts to the saint are received, including jewelry, lights and all the economic contributions so that the society of the Holy Sepulcher can afford its annual arrangements.
On Holy Thursday, the annual wake is held at his home, where the father of the people is present and prayers and prayers are made with his people, hot chocolate and soda cookies are served and open throughout the morning.

the arrival is in the main church of villa de cura, it is big and beautiful, in total it takes 8 hours in procession and at 3 o'clock in the afternoon begins the mass in the church when he is lowered.

A pesar de que ya no vivo allí, villa de Cura fue mi lugar de nacimiento y hogar por 9 años, allí di mis primeros pasos, conocí mis primeras plazas y tuve mis primeros amigos, además de ello también tuve mi primer acercamiento con la fe y el avivamiento de todo un pueblo ante lo considerado como "la celebración de la semana mayor".
La verdad durante mi niñez fueron tantas las historias que me contaron los abuelos del pueblo que conocer la realidad se me hace casi imposible, el relato que más se repite es la llegada de la imagen del Santo cuerpo aproximadamente en el siglo XVIII, cuando por error llegó al municipio Zamora, al parecer la imagen santo sepulcro y la del nazareno de Achaguas eran proveniente de España pero tenían otra dirección, sin embargo por error terminaron en ambos lugares. ¿ fue el destino?

Actualmente la llamada "casa del Santo sepulcro" es el lugar en donde descansa la imagen, es visitada durante todo el año por fieles de todas partes del mundo, es un lugar placentero, lleno de un ambiente agradable, fresco, bendito, donde hay mucha luz y paz.
Esta casa tiene una historia muy interesante para los venezolanos, ya que ese lugar le pertenecía al General José tomas Boves en los tiempos de de batallas por la independencia del país, incluso se dice que fue el lugar en donde se ocultó antes de partir a los llanos venezolanos para seguir en la lucha.
Las flores blancas y moradas son parte de los regalos que sus fieles le otorgan a la imagen del Santo cuerpo en el sepulcro, cada año las floristerías del pueblo se colapsan de personas comprándole las flores del Santo sepulcro, tanto es, que las más vendidas son las moradas y los crisantemos. Mi familia siempre ha comprado crisantemos, mi abuela y mamá duraban días consiguiéndolos, porque es algo que nunca podía faltar y por supuesto desde niño, también forme parte de esas compras.
además de flores, también se le colocan unos bellos lazos morados cerca de sus luces blancas y moradas, que visten toda la parte superior, eso es tradición ya que son el obsequio que se les da a los cargadores que durante horas lo llevan en su recorrido, es una reliquia muy amada y apreciada por el pueblo, se considera un objeto bendito.
Comenzando la semana santa, son recibidas están flores y todos los regalos hacia el santo, incluidas joyas, luces y todos los aportes económicos para que la sociedad del Santo sepulcro pueda costear sus arreglos anuales.
El día jueves santo, se realiza en su casa, el velorio anual, donde el padre del pueblo hace presencia y se realizan rezos y oraciones junto a su pueblo, se sirve chocolate caliente y galletas de soda y abre durante toda la madrugada.

además, los privados de libertad tenían oportunidad de pedir perdón por sus pecados y se tomó la costumbre de cada año liberar a los presos de la comisaría del pueblo que habían cumplido su condena justo en la procesión del Santo y bajo su bendición y misericordia, arrepentidos y con la conciencia de no volver a delinquir, el gran respeto que se le tiene a la imagen del patrono de villa de cura es muy grande, y se extiende por todas las clases y población del pueblo de villa de cura.
usualmente los cargadores son hombres jóvenes y no tan jóvenes del pueblo, que piden algún favor y prometen como pago de promesa ser cargadores, mi abuelo tenia la reliquia pero nunca le pregunte si fue o no cargador jaja, sin embargo son los encargados de trasladar la imagen, son muchos los cargadores, mas de 50, y se van turnando durante todo el tiempo de traslado, se ayudan como hormigas, se dan animo, agua y cuidan entre si.
el dia viernes de la semana santa, el santo es levantado de su morada, luego de que el padre da la bendición, suena la música del himno nacional de Venezuela, es algo tan hermoso que me erizo solo de escribirlo, es un momento en donde todos lloran, es tan especial y amado ese momento que es sin duda el mas esperado, comienza a sonar la música precedida por la orquesta de villa de cura, es música sacra por lo que es un recorrido que se siente en el alma y en el corazón, sale de su casa y se marca como camino unas 4 cuadras muy largas, en total son las 12 estaciones, en ese recorrido frente a el va su gente, sus fieles con velas encendidas y oraciones, gratitud y mucho amor bajo el son que cada año brilla.
la llegada es en la iglesia principal de villa de cura, es grande y hermosa, en total tarde 8 horas en procesión y a las 3 de la tarde inicia la misa en la iglesia al ser bajado.
en la noche a eso de las 7 pm, vuelve a ser cargado. para continuar en su camino de regreso a su casa, pasa por la prefectura perdona a los presos y continua hacia su hogar, en ambas procesiones es acompañado por la imagen de "la dolorosa" la virgen maría de vestido negro luto, además de la imagen de san juan bautista.
de noche es un espectáculo de luz, es de mis favoritos sin duda, es una energía fuerte y brillante, hasta aproximadamente a las 2 de la madrugada entra en su casa y así una vez mas su pueblo le habrá cumplido hasta el próximo año.
