Silos on the bank of the Danube river, Belgrade

On the banks of the Danube River, in the immediate vicinity of the city center, there are the famous Belgrade Silos, part of the Port of Belgrade complex, which has not been in use for a long time.
Young entrepreneurs, innovators of new ideas with the support of the non-profit movement Gaia, from these concrete gray monsters, who could only hope for demolition, made a place for the gathering of my fellow citizens and our guests, on the banks of the Danube river.

Gathered around various social events, educational, cultural, ecological and recreational, here it is possible to enjoy various festivals, concerts, fairs, sports events, workshops... Or simply enjoy socializing in the pleasant shade of concrete giants on warm summer days, on only 20 meters from the Danube river.

The complex of Belgrade Silos, consisting of four units, basically with 16 cells each and a total height of 28 meters, is a monument of brutalist architecture.

When we were near this building, I tried to explain the purpose of the existence of these silos, that it was actually a warehouse for various agricultural crops (wheat mostly), in the immediate vicinity of the river and the railway, in a perfect location for fast transport, but today only good energy accumulates in these warehouses, which is released as soon as you see these beautiful murals.

The murals, which surpass street art in their imposingness, are the works of famous street art artists (TKV, Jana Danilović, Wuper, Predrag Radovanovoic).

There is also a DJ area, a summer stage, an open-air bar, and with beach chairs placed right next to the river, outdoor enjoyment is guaranteed.

There are also those who like to spend a lot of time near these silos, like this one who parked his mobile home here, but also those who want a little more excitement in their lives, so they try climbing on the biggest climbing rock in Belgrade.

One climber, a 12-year-old girl, did not get far, while another young lady climbed to the very top.

Bravo for the girls!

I would dare. I choose a lounge chair, a beer in my hand and a view of the Danube.
