You know when you decide to leave home without a specific destination and you end up seeing amazing places? Well, that's exactly what happened to me the day I went out just to walk around the neighborhood of Palermo and I ended up knowing the Regatas Lake. It is far away from the central area of the city of Buenos Aires, however I walked and walked until I got to its surroundings, when I looked at Google Maps I realized that I was near a lake, it was the lake of regatas.
Well, I decided to get to know it because during the 6 years that I have been in the country I did not know it. This area corresponds to the Tres de Febrero park which is formed by a large area that houses four artificial lakes and this is one of them, is located much further away than the others, retired in an area where currently no public transport circulates and is also in restructuring and care by the government.
Sabes cuándo decides salir de casa sin algún destino en concreto y terminas conociendo lugares increíbles? Bueno, fue exactamente lo que me pasó el día que salí simplemente a caminar por todo el barrio de Palermo y terminé conociendo el lago de regatas. Queda muy lejos de lo que es el casco central de la ciudad de Buenos Aires sin embargo caminé y caminé hasta llegar a sus alrededores, cuando mire Google Maps me di cuenta que estaba cerca de un lago, se trata del lago de regatas.
Bueno decidí acercarme a conocerlo ya que durante los 6 años que llevo en el país no lo conocía. Esta zona corresponde al parque tres de febrero que está formado por una extensa zona que alberga cuatro lagos artificiales y este es uno de ellos, está ubicado muchísimo más lejos que los demás, retirado en una zona donde actualmente no circulan transportes públicos y además está en reestructuración y cuidados por parte del gobierno.
It is one of the most visited lakes with respect to the sport, able by its remoteness and its lack of circulation of cars and buses decide to go jogging, walking, do any sport. It has more than 90,000 square meters and the lake is about 6 meters deep. It is located next to the municipal golf course, so we can say from what I saw that it is an area at least very crowded by middle - upper class people.
It is also a good place to ride bicycles and in fact many people do it, either with their own or decide to rent government bicycles that are available at various points in each neighborhood, in Palermo there are many Eco - bike stations. I know all the lakes in Palermo and I personally consider this one to be quite different, it is more open, more natural and there is an island in the middle full of trees.
Es uno de los lagos más visitados con respecto al deporte, capaz por su lejanía y su carencia de circulación de autos y buses deciden ir a trotar, caminar, hacer cualquier deporte. Tiene más de 90.000 metros cuadrados y el lago tiene alrededor de 6 metros de profundidad. Está situado al lado del campo municipal de Golf, así que podemos decir por lo que ví que es una zona al menos muy concurrida por personas de clase media - alta.
También es un buen lugar para pasear en bicicletas y que de hecho muchas personas lo hacen, sea con propias o deciden alquilar las bicicletas del gobierno que están a disposición en diversos puntos de cada barrio, en Palermo hay muchísimas estaciones de Eco - bici. Conozco todos los lagos de Palermo y personalmente considero que este es bastante diferente, es más abierto, más natural y hay una isla en medio llena de muchos árboles.
People come to this place in search of a bit of peace, to get away from the everyday life of the suburbs and the stress of the city. It is a natural beauty and a place of relaxation and tranquility in the middle of the chaos. I spent at least a couple of hours sitting there, enjoying the view and taking some pictures to share with you all.
The sky was luckily clear during my stay at the lake with a rare deep blue as it was cloudy all day with predictions of rain, however under those conditions I went out. As you can see I took some pictures also of reflections that I found very interesting as well as of the surroundings of the park as I was leaving the area to enter the main avenues on my way back home.
Las personas llegan a este lugar en búsqueda de un poco de paz, alejarse de la cotidianidad del conurbano y del estrés de la ciudad. Es una belleza natural y un espacio de relajación y tranquilidad en medio del caos. Estuve al menos un par de horas allí sentado, disfrutando de la vista y bueno tomando algunas fotos para compartirlas con todos ustedes.
El cielo por suerte estuvo despejado durante mi estancia en el lago con un azul intenso bastante raro ya que estuvo todo el día nublado y con predicciones de lluvias, sin embargo bajo esas condiciones salí. Cómo pueden ver tomé algunas fotografías también de reflejos que me parecieron muy interesantes así como también de los alrededores del parque mientras salía de la zona para entrar a las avenidas principales yendo de regreso a casa.
A few hours had passed and it was time to return home, I walked for several minutes and before reaching the main avenue I saw that there was a train branch that runs behind the lake in this area of Tres de Febrero Park, the sun was falling and the day became a little yellowish, a very interesting and pleasant scene so I decided to take some pictures at that moment while I had this particular type of light.
This is how I was able to get to know the last lake of the four that make up this gigantic park. A place to visit very often, some weekend, to disconnect from the city and connect a little more with nature. What do you think about this place? Había pasado algunas horas y era tiempo de regresar a casa, caminé por varios minutos y antes de llegar a la avenida principal ví que se encontraba un ramal de tren que circula por detrás del lago en esta zona del parque tres de febrero, estaba cayendo el sol y el día se tornó un poco amarillento, una escena bastante interesante y agradable así que decidí tomar algunas fotos en ese momento mientras tenía este tipo de luz tan particular.
Así fue como de esta manera pude conocer el último lago de los cuatro que conforman este gigantesco parque. Un lugar que sin lugar a dudas hay que visitar muy seguido, algún fin de semana, para desconectar con la ciudad y conectar un poco más con la naturaleza. ¿Qué te ha parecido este lugar? ¿Dedicarías una tarde a pasarla en éste lago de regatas?
