Tinuy-an is derived from the Cebuano word Tinuyo-an, which means ”intentional act“ as well as "babalik-balikan," or "a spot you'll keep returning to."
Tinuy-an Falls is a multi-tiered waterfall in Bislig, Surigao del Sur, on Mindanao's southernmost island.
Tinuy-an Falls is often referred to as the "Little Niagara Falls of the Philippines." The waterfall has a width of 95 meters and a height of 180 meters.

On a beautiful day, the best time to visit is in the morning, between 9 and 11 a.m., because again, a rainbow can be seen.
The dread of individuals who have never traveled to Mindanao obscures the beauty of the island. The region's beauties, such as the Tinuy-an Falls, will inspire awe in those prepared to embark on an adventure after they've seen it for themselves.

The falls were surreal, and they were very magnificent.

Mindanao has several stunning waterfalls, virgin beaches, and unspoiled natural features that will have you coming back. Tinuy-an Falls is one of its jewels. Because of its amazing beauty, it is known as Surigao del Sur's Crown Jewel.

Tinuy-an Falls had a lot to offer. Some of the best things to do in and around Tinuy-an Falls are as follows:

  • Riding a bamboo raft - to get closer to the base and feel the plunge of water will make your trip there much more enjoyable. You can rent a raft to get to the falls, but you must wear a life jacket because the pool can get very deep due to the intense pressure from the falls. Showering at the pool's bottom is a wonderful experience.

  • Make your way to the top of the second level of the falls - where you can sit or lean on the rock and let the water massage your back. It'll only take you 200 steps to get up there. For further information, request a tourist guide. Because tourists are not permitted to climb on their own.

The place is well taken care of as it is clean and green with tall plants and trees keeping the common area well shaded.

August is the area's dry season, therefore the falls have less water than usual. The falls, on the other hand, are still stunning.

Going to Tinuy-an Falls with a 4-wheel vehicle is very accessible, and once you arrive, you'll be astounded at the massive rock formations. The falls' vertical wall is breathtaking, and the waters are very pure.

The waterfall has been featured in international travel journals and television programs. And not to mention, the KMJS.

Do not leave without seeing this place. I promise, you will not be disappointed. If you are driving, it is about an hour and a half away from the enchanted river. The entrance fee is estimated to be around 50 pesos. You can rent a bamboo raft to get close to the falls for a fee, but it is still inexpensive.
