Come with me through Lisbon: from one side to the other

just a small walk...

... Was the first intention but after it was a longer one. Hahaha. But first of all:

Heyho guys, all good in your hood?

Today I show you my walk through Lisbon. My way to the #websummit.

I started at the so called 'Greco' (it's closed, you can call it even #abandoned) and ended up two hours later at the other side of the city, close to the Pavillion Atlantico.

I was thinking of taking the bus but it ended up in a nice sunny #autumn walk because I had enough time for that.

Greco

I started my walk here. Normally just looking around to find some nice streetart.
What I first found was at 'Greco'.

Here you will find also interesting #letterings and #streetart, some hidden #graffiti #gems.

IMG_20221102_080216_edit_74916208213568.jpg

Let’s watch this one closely. Maybe some readers of my posts remember the style? Indeed, its another unreadable #graffitilettering of this unknown artist.

And again, maybe I am stupid, I am not able to read this marvelous #letters. If one of you guys is able to read it, please, let me know what is standing there.

I crossed Arco da Rua Augusta and here you will also have a lot of #museums by the way. Take a look by your own.

IMG_20221102_081855_edit_75492185843688.jpg

To all #beer lovers out there. This #museum you surely like isn't it? Would be a perfect place to visit on a #beersaturday 😉

IMG_20221102_081851_edit_75381886852038.jpg

In Portuguese it is called 'Museu da Cerveja'. You will find it here:

Terreiro do Paço – Ala Nascente nº 62 a 65, 1100-148 Lisboa

Their website is: https://www.museudacerveja.pt/

About this museum:

The Beer Museum is simultaneously a restoration space to enjoy the best that Portuguese cuisine has to offer and a museum that presents the history of beer, proudly exhibiting the Portuguese legacy in the world when celebrating the many beers produced in the various regions of the country.

And because here is celebrated beer, the oldest, most popular and most consumed alcoholic beverage in the world, as a hymn to its knowledge and flavors, this drink is honored on an imposing altar built with unique design cups ( engraved with the flags of the 192 countries of the world! ), by one of the most prestigious Portuguese plastic artists of the 20th century – Júlio Pomar – who also signs « Mural Tales », a tile panel that welcomes visitors, over ten meters in length.

IMG_20221102_081843_edit_75356272667667.jpg

What you think? Should I go in, visit it and show you how it looks from the inside? I am not a beer drinker at all but interesting it looks even without drinking.

IMG_20221102_081951_edit_75552562432741.jpg

Lets walk on, at the side of this museum is some funny and colorful streetart again.

Would you visit it? For sure you will see a looong post about it on my blog. 😊
Don't know when I will go there but surely still this month.

IMG_20221102_082312_edit_133379123033813.jpg

Now lets walk on.

IMG_20221102_082851_edit_133461252795259.jpg

I just went straight the street. After a while the next museum showed up.
The so called 'Museu do Fado'

Alfama, Largo do Chafariz de Dentro 1, 1100-139 Lisboa

Website:
https://www.museudofado.pt/

About the museum:

is not understood,
nor is it explained.

So they write on their website. What you think? Does that sounds interesting to you? Feel free to let me know if you wanna see more or it in a comment.

Close to this museum is directly the next one.

'Lisbon Military Museum'

R. Museu da Artilharia 51, 1100-366 Lisboa

Website:
https://www.exercito.pt/pt/quem-somos/organizacao/ceme/vceme/dhcm/lisboa

About the museum:

The Military Museum of Lisbon ( MusMil Lisboa ) promotes the enhancement, enrichment and exposure of the historical-military heritage attributed to it, including the Museological Nucleus of Buçaco, the Museological Nucleus of the Artillery of Costa, the Museological Space of the Movement of the Armed Forces and the Museum Nucleus of Uniform and Equipment.

Hmmm, this is maybe the less interesting one to me. What you say? Does it sounds interesting to you?

I went my way on. I was on my way to the #websummitlisbon2022. Yes I took a little walk. I was good on time, it was early around 8 am in the morning. So I arrived at the #websummit2022 at 10 am. Still early to me.

IMG_20221102_084924_edit_133566051203056.jpg

I left the museums area and went down to the Harbor. Just walking straight the street with loud music on my ears and enjoying the beautiful morning by getting sun-kissed by the sol.

IMG_20221102_091705_edit_133800351219687.jpg

Finally I entered the more peaceful park area. On google map you can put in 'Parque infantil de Braço de Prata' that is the name of it. The exactly adress is:

Av. Infante Dom Henrique 1950, Lisboa

This area I added to the #pinmapple map. So you find it more easy.

IMG_20221102_091745_edit_133844516243117.jpg

The Ribeirinho Oriente Park is open to everyone - 24/7. The park, located on the banks of the Tagus River, begins at the Doca do Poço do Bispo warehouses and extends for about 600 meters from the river bank to the north, occupying almost four hectares in total.

IMG_20221102_091835_edit_133864881687906.jpg

Some older shipping containers, converted and specially placed along the park, will be a reminder of the site's past. There are playgrounds, cafes, restaurants and it is a nice place to walk.

IMG_20221102_092512_edit_133940361760811.jpg

Also some ships and boats are around here. So you can hang out close to the Harbor in a beautiful surrounding.

IMG_20221102_093020_edit_133986993027992.jpg

If you have enough of it you just walk a bit up and there you will find the Café and Restaurant spots.

IMG_20221102_093228_edit_134045720269128.jpg

Because all the spots were closed at the time I went there I focus a moment on the street under my feet...

IMG_20221102_093233_edit_134056794164439.jpg

I was walking over some nice pieces of #art here. But had no time anymore to #photograph it better.

IMG_20221102_093402_edit_134071484271729.jpg

All the way long are some different #Artworks like that.

IMG_20221102_094012_edit_134120686527971.jpg

I saw already the signs which directed to 'Jardins de Aqua' aka the 'Water Gardens'. The adress of it is:

Passeio Ulisses, 1990-005 Lisboa

IMG_20221102_094054_edit_134131651476928.jpg
This neighborhood here was built around the end of the 1990s, strongly motivated by the then Expo 1998. The pavilions and structures that once housed all the objects and exhibits of the Expo are still of cultural and artistic importance in this place.

For example, in Parque das Nações nowadays you will find conference and concert pavilions, a shopping mall, fancy and hip restaurants, and a rather famous cable car is said to invite you to go ziplining.

Hope you liked all of the #impressions today.
