Discovering Brigits Garden in Galway

On our Doorstep

We've a lot on our doorstep here in Galway. Lots to keep us entertained. Conamara amd all it's character, Salthill and the beach, Galway city and its charm. But another beauty is bridget's garden , which is about a fifteen minute drive from the house.

We've been ourselves a bunch of times but this year the boys cousins were all over to visit from newcastle and they've never been so we decided to bring them to bridget's garden for the day and they all thoroughly enjoyed it.

There really is so much to see and learn for the children here. And you can tell the people that own the site have really put a lot of thought into it.

As soon As you arrive you see the solar panels, they used to power lots of size to straight away.In order that there would have been sustainable , which is great to see.

Bye bye worries

Look at this folks. Simple idea, but so nice and manys a child has handed some worries away here over the years. It's these little things that make Brigit's garden very special in my opinion

Wishing Trees

My three nieces who had never been before adored the wishing trees too. Again, it's a very simple concept, but a really sweet thing.

The idea is the little ones write their wishes on a piece of paper and hang itbon the wishing tree. Then they run along the magic stones and their wishes may be granted.

Here were some of the wishes... some very cute, some funny.

Fairy Doors

This is another nice idea for the kids to find the thirteen fairy doors amongst the trees.

What they say

1000081657.jpg

Here is what they have to say about Brigit's garden on their website https://brigitsgarden.ie/

"Brigit‘s Garden is regarded as one of the most picturesque gardens of Ireland. The unique Celtic Gardens take you on a magical journey into the heart of Celtic heritage and mythology, making it one of the truly outstanding family-friendly places to visit in the West of Ireland. Set within 11 acres of native woodland & wildflower meadows, visitors can enjoy the sun trail, an ancient ring fort (fairy fort), kids’ nature trail, thatched roundhouse and crannóg, and the calendar sundial, the largest in Ireland."
