Icelandic Town Awaits Eruption and Possible Scenarios Discussed by Geologist
As per Prof. Willsey, there are 4 possible eruption scenarios:
- below the ocean, close to the Grindavik. Might be the best option for the town
- in the area of the city. Might be worst case because it would destroy the city and the harbor
- further up, next to the Blue Lagoon and the power plant. Destruction depends on lava flow. It could destroy all three locations or pass them by.
- no eruption
