Keeping Watch ~ Poetry

We worked all night,
Not to attain beauty,
Our aim was to show craftsmanship,
Many errors turned us down,
Our depression weighed us slowly,
Some slept because they gave up,
After all nothing good is coming out of Nazareth,
One little man brightened up,
He held up the light through the night,
Giving a ray of hope to our already weak faith,
Now strength came alive,
We worked all night,
And found that our art could be what want,
The beauty in the eyes of every man,
Little man will not give,
Not again,
Not this time.

Having combed the dew of the night,
Keeping a distance from the comfort of bed,
And asking sleep to be at bay,
By arms length it stayed away,
Much more that my little men kept watch,
Working with shining eyes through the cold night,
All wanting to present a masterpiece,
Adding one touch here,
And another one to match it there,
Two more eyes to check how perfectly it matched,
All night racking their brains,
Solving the puzzle for national identity,
You can see for yourself,
That our aim is to make you all proud,
As citizens of our noble nation,
Our best place of abode,
We proudly watched the night,
Turned into day for sake of our nation.
