THE ORIGIN OF PRIDE

A dimple that bribed the old beast
The dimple beguiled and did win
A fatal disease was sneaked in
The origin of pride began here

The dimple is now in man's will
Whenever it sounds it whips him
How sooner would man denounce this?
The origin of pride is self-will

The spreading disease is now breeze
The moment we breathe we sin deep
A famous disease is now bred
The origin of pride is self-will

A statement of pride resists HIM
The garment of pride pollutes things
The fellow with pride would not see
The origin of pride is self-will

The people of light should not will
As Jesus His Son did not will
He truly believe in God's will
The origin of pride is self-well

The Inspiration behind this poem is that:
Is it true that if you and I are not doing the will of God then we are proud? Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit neither did their own will not the will of man, but the will of God. Pride comes from self . So, if one is not doing God's will then such a person is doing self will. And of course we know that the motivator of God's will is God, through the Holy Spirit, and the motivator of self will is satan, the very serpent who lured Eve.
Each time we seek to satisfy ourselves we become proud. This is how terrible pride looks like.
