Over the years, I have seen how poverty has been turned into a weapon by our politicians. Even the poverty alleviation plans are still aimed at keeping people within a certain financial level with no realistic way of improvement.

Then we hail them for building two secondary schools here and there, a few roads and bridges, and tap water in communities. They then use it to campaign for the next election. What were they supposed to do in the first place??? It's because people are in multidimensional poverty, that's why they throw these mediocre accomplishments for us, coupled with greasing palms with few thousands during elections. It's so sad how tribalism, nepotism and poverty have been used in the hands of our politicians.
