Hidden Secrets

This photo taken by me on vacation near Parkersburg, Arizona on February 2020 in a
rock garden located in an isolated area of the dessert. A couple, who are friends of my Father and his wife, and are part of their hiking group, create new designs each year. The retired couple hails from Canada. Dad said that they haul all of the colored rocks of different varieties of stone all the way to this place and create their art and leave it here in th quiet of the dessert. It was a good walk from where you can park a jeep. This visit was one month before the whole world shut down.

A swing creaks with dusky winds
Silence returns, shadows descend
Benches sit, alone and prim
As though sharing their secrets
With no one within.
An owl dips down and captures her prize.
We've forgotten to play
And forgotten to pray
We listened to lies.
Forgotten to live,
to hope and to stay
Rooted in family,
values and ways
We've forgotten we need
All the above.
Living takes risk,
we take every day.
No one is promised
to live one more day.
The secrets we're holding
So tight to our breast
Are secrets
we've known and
such secrets give rest.

Hold a child
Run and play,
Sing loud from the heart,
hug someone today.
Life is simple
If we truly commit
to live in the present
so never forget.

I'm pretty much over the covid-19 (thank you, God). Today I received my Botox for migraine and my first allergy injection. It was a tiring day. I pray all works as it is designed and things improve just in time for spring!
