Warm greetings to all readers. Today I am pleased to bring a poem inspired by the Fire in participation to one of the @freewritehouse activities. I hope you enjoy reading it.

El elemento más humano
Por muchos,
puede que seas considerado,
el más peligroso elemento,
pues tu alto poder destructivo
y capacidad para dañar
al más ligero contacto,
llena de temor no sólo a los incautos,
pero, sólo los que se atreven
a caminar a tu lado,
pueden sentir tu calidez,
apreciar la nobleza de tus actos,
notar las bondades que dejas,
y admirar la pureza de tu existencia.
Puedes ser las llamas que destruyen
o las que dan paso a un nuevo comienzo;
puedes ser las llamas del odio,
cuya ira consume todo a su paso,
o las llamas de la pasión,
que inspiran amor a todo lo que tocan;
puedes ser las llamas de la hoguera que,
mantienen un hogar o ser
las llamas desbordantes que lo queman…
Sencillamente,
eres capaz de representar dos caras
de una misma moneda,
y el secreto contigo está,
en saber elegir el lado correcto.
De todos los elementos,
el más parecido a los humanos,
eres tú,
pues, al igual que nosotros,
necesitas oxígeno para subsistir,
mueres si no tienes alimento,
puedes lastimar o ayudar a otros,
y como nosotros,
muchas veces eres incomprendido.
Por eso, con firmeza,
yo te sostengo,
dentro de mi ser, con mucho ingenio,
te mantengo,
y te crio
como la representación de mi nombre.

The most human element
For many,
you may be considered
the most dangerous element,
because of your high destructive power
and capacity to damage
at the slightest touch,
fills not only the unwary with fear,
but only those who dare to walk by your
