A picture is worth a thousand words

In the picture, I see a small market located in the corner of a road leading to the town. In the market are scanty sellers and buyers after what seems like a heavy downpour. The sellers had covered their goods with waterproof fabrics to prevent damage from the rain, while others were still transporting their goods to the market. In the scanty crowd are men, women, and children with sweaters or veils around their body to cover from the cold. At the other end of the market is a place flooded with water, tricyclist , and pushers struggling to get through.

I feel the market had started earlier before that time but was disturbed by rainfall. The people still roaming around the market must have found places to hide from the rain or those who came to buy shortly after the rain. The place doesn't look like a large market as traders only set-up their few commodities along the road path.

Story

It was Saturday afternoon, shortly after a heavy rainfall. The market became scanty, the road muddy and flooded, and traders struggled to transport their goods. The market is always this way every time there's a downpour. The market is situated in the hometown, and sells a few commodities for daily consumption for people living in that town. The market opens everyday at 8:00am and closes at 10:00pm at night.

People who hid while it was raining came out to quickly buy what they needed while those who had bought what they needed walked home. The weather was cold, people dressed in sweatshirts to help keep them warm. It was not a good day for the traders as most days when it rains, they get just a few customers. They only hope that the day will later turn out to be good for them.
