This is my post for #freewriters 2261/2231 prompt betray me hosted by @mariannewest and @daily.prompt

Merry Christmas to all, I pray for you to have health, and I hope for a little wealth for you, too.

This morning we had to be at one of our daughters' houses for breakfast, so I had to feed the bunny and clean his cage before we left. With the traffic that we have now it takes 45 minutes to go 25 miles. Just as we were getting ready to leave my husband saw someone walking across our yard. He asked the guy what he was doing here and he said he was looking for my son, he said he needed help he had a flat tire and a dead battery over at the storage units. This is where several homeless people keep a unit so they have somewhere to go. My son was not here, I have not seen either of them since yesterday. Anyway, we were on our way out the door and even though I felt bad about it I told the guy that we could not help him, one thing was we did not have a spare tire to give him and as for my husband, he said the story was shady, so the guy left.

We were sitting beside this little fellow and I heard him say aqua to his mom. I wondered if my ears could betray me, I asked his mother if he just asked for water in Spanish. She said yes, his daycare is run by Spanish speaking women. They speak Spanish to the children all day. She said he kept babbling things that she could not understand and thought it was baby jibberish.

After opening gifts and chatting a bit, we went to the other daughter's house. She loves the color black and silver, I found a black and silver tiara, I was so happy that she loved it.

I got a gift in the shape of a heart, I could not figure out what it could be. I was puzzled.

When she was alive my husband's mother would give me a box of chocolate-covered cherries. And every year since she passed I buy a box and think of her while I eat them. This year my granddaughter bought me a box and made a heart shape by rolling up plastic bags to form the heart.

She was taking her time opening her gift, it was the one with the wrapping paper that I have been reusing for several years, my husband says to her, you have to be the slowest person in the world to open a gift. She tells him that she can not rip the paper, it's a grandma thing.
