The #ZapFicMonday is a literary initiative from the Freewriters Community in which writers have to create a story, using the prompt provided, with 240 characters or less.

The Promised Land

When he was buying the plot, the seller promised a paradise: a beautiful pasture with a mighty river cutting the landscape in half.
Unfortunately, those promises were lies. The land was scorched and dry, full of lumps of dirt and sadness.
