Convoca Club de Poesía, bajo la promoción de @freewritehouse, a una nueva cita, esta vez bajo la frase "Sorpresa desagradable" (ver aquí). Escribí para participar en este llamado el siguiente texto poético de tono prosaico e irónico. He aprovechado la ocasión para rendir un homenaje indirecto al gran caricaturista venezolano Pedro León Zapata (1929-2015).
It calls Poetry Club, under the promotion of @freewritehouse, to a new appointment, this time with the phrase "Unpleasant surprise" (see here). I wrote to participate in this call the following poetic text with a prosaic and ironic tone. I took the opportunity to pay an indirect tribute to the great Venezuelan cartoonist Pedro León Zapata (1929-2015).
Inamovible e intocable
el poderoso se cree,
o se lo hacen creer.
"Todo calculado,
todo controlado,
como siempre",
dijeron sus secuaces
al tiranosaurio,
arrellanado en sus ínfulas.
Bailó y zapateó
con las suelas
de su ignominia.
Vociferó su infamia
a todo gañote.
Blandió su mazo
lanzando improperios.
Hasta que calló
y cayó con el soplo
límpido y grácil
de una libélula
volante en los aires
de sus usurpados predios.
Power ends (poetic exercise)
Immovable and untouchable
the powerful believe it,
or is made to believe it.
"Everything calculated,
everything controlled!
as always",
said his henchmen
to the tyrannosaurus,
reclining in his arrogance.
He danced and stomped
with the soles
of his ignominy.
He shouted his infamy
at the top of his lungs.
He brandished his mallet
hurling expletives.
Until he fell silent
and fell with the blow
limpid and graceful
of a dragonfly
flying in the air
of his usurped lands.
