A treasurer is someone that keeps money for people, businesses and even organizations. It also exist in the religious settings where someone is in charge of keeping the money contributed by the congregation.
The money can be kept in the bank but still under the custody of the treasurer and maybe the financial secretary too, but there are usually liquid cash kept in the hands of the treasurer in case of emergency.
The prompt for today is not a new thing because examples of things like this has been witnessed in the contemporary world.
We find treasurers manipulating figures to suit their desires, and some run away with the funds in their custody. This is a very wicked behavior and selfish too. But some people only care about themselves.
Because of lack of trust in people and the high level of dishonesty in people, that is why the selection of a treasurer is usually done with carefulness and being watchful.
As much as we do not want to be involved with a dishonest Treasurer, we should not be one ourselves.
