A Picture is worth a thousand words

Ife was known for her market where every kind of commodities was sold. People from the neighboring villages troop every Thursday to buy and sell. The market is located in the heart of the town, which makes it easy to access. buyers who couldn't afford to rent a store set their commodities along the road.

Shortly after a heavy downpour one Thursday morning, traders started to set up their commodities again, people who had run into hiding came out to buy what they needed with blankets wrapped around their body. Soon the market became busy with buyers and sellers, hustlers pushing wheelbarrows looking for who needed their services

The market is the smallest among others around the neighboring villages but goods were sold at a cheaper price in the market compared to the other markets. The people living in ife were mainly farmers who farmed for both commercial and subsistence purposes. Their land was known to be fertile.

"The people of Ife have found favor in the eyes of the gods" people do say.

The weather didn't seem good for the traders this Thursday as just a few buyers walked around the market in search of goods. They hope that there will be more buyers before the day ends.
