He was standing at the sink washing the dishes when - Boom!
He was thrown back across the room as the doors blew off the cupboard below the stove to his side. Thank god he hadn't been standing in front of it!
Apparently, a loose gas pipe connection caused the explosion.

Today's story was inspired by a real life event that happened to a friend of mine when his kitchen cupboard blew up due to a leaking gas pipe. He was luckily ok.
