Greetings, my dear Hivers!!!

I hope you are enjoying this wonderful night. In my case, I've been devoting myself to my greatest passion: creating characters!!! Which for this occasion I was working on the design to participate in the weekly Splinterlands art contest.

From the newest cards there are 2 Mermaids that since I saw them immediately inspired me to do something special with them together. However, for different reasons, I had never been able to carry out that idea. But yesterday, while I was looking for what to do to participate in this week's contest, I came across 2 other Mermaids from older editions and decided to take the risk of creating something with these two characters.

The two cards chosen for this occasion are Mermaid Healer & Mischievous Mermaid. My main idea was to make something "more epic" and "with more movement". However, this time I decided to save that idea for another occasion, specifically for the other two Mermaids I have been planning to make for some time.

The truth is that it all started with just one Mermaid but I couldn't resist making the 2, so then I decided to add the other one because it seemed like an excellent idea. This way, I could also test my skills by creating two characters in one piece, which was one more reason to try this.

𝕷𝖊𝖆𝖗𝖓 𝖆 𝖑𝖎𝖙𝖙𝖑𝖊 𝖆𝖇𝖔𝖚𝖙 𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖘𝖊 𝖙𝖜𝖔 𝖆𝖒𝖆𝖟𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖈𝖍𝖆𝖗𝖆𝖈𝖙𝖊𝖗𝖘:

The female mages of the ΛZMΛRÉ Merfolk take great pleasure in the destruction their magic creates. Mermaids can often be found swimming gleefully around the edge of the Dark Water, destroying the homes of innocent Crustaceans with their plasmatic waves and laughing as they go.

𝕸𝖊𝖗𝖒𝖆𝖎𝖉 𝕳𝖊𝖆𝖑𝖊𝖗

The Merfolk Healers of ΛZMΛRÉ are experts at the removal of curses. In the Water District of Anenon, several of these healing masters make their services available to Air-Breathers, who are happy to travel extreme distances and to pay the exorbitant prices. When summoned to battle, Mermaid Healers provide precise, targeted healing and powerful moral support.

𝕾𝖔𝖒𝖊 𝖎𝖒𝖆𝖌𝖊𝖘 𝖔𝖋 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖕𝖗𝖔𝖈𝖊𝖘𝖘 💖😋

It all started with a single, quick sketch. Well instead of one, I did two, but in the end this turned out to be the first sketch of the whole idea. It was something super simple and quick, it didn't take me long to get it done, as I was looking to reduce the hours I normally spend on drawing. On the other hand, there were a lot of lines, nothing too decent, but I didn't want to do a lineart either, as it would be a waste of time.

After having this majestic sketch with the idea of what I was going to do, I started to give it some volume with the grayscale, to give an idea of what I wanted to achieve in the end, without detailing too much. It was something simple and quick, I just added some simple details to give shape to the body, I repeat nothing too complex.

A little color always comes in handy. Actually, I didn't make many changes to the character. Usually, I usually modify some things or add elements to the characters, but this time I almost didn't change anything, well, I don't make illustrations with more than one character very often... Maybe that's why.

Moving on and adding more details, once I had the colors ready, what I had to do was detailing. I made some adjustments. Yes, there were certain things that were not right and I was correcting them. I didn't have the original sketch, so I was fixing it as I saw it. I made it up as I went along. Lately I've been thinking that maybe I'm doing better without sketching, in the sense that I save more time and I don't have to spend so much time detailing a sketch. Anyway, I'm working it out little by little as I go along.

The combination of these two mermaids seemed funny to me, since they both have green skin. The truth is that I don't really like drawing green skin, I don't have much experience with it, and precisely these two characters have green skin. Their colors are practically the same, with some different details, so they look more like sisters.

After a long time, I finally wasn't liking how the main Mermaid was turning out. Therefore, I decided to change some things at the last minute, which makes this step remarkable compared to the previous ones. Also, the Mermaid in the back already had a face.

To conclude, after several changes in this work, I decided to modify some things again to give it a more interesting touch. For example, I adjusted the size of the mermaid in the front, since, in my opinion, it was too wide. In addition, I made some subtle tweaks to the skin and changed the details of the front Mermaid's tail.

At this point, I also added the water and made the final touches. This is how the final result looked, I hope you liked it!!!
