Hello Friends. I've been working on my new NFT collection, Nativity, for over a month now and I'm glad to announce they'll be minted for sale in the coming week. This collection focuses on the ethnicity of African women which is shown in their beautiful, dynamic and elaborate hairstyles. This is my favorite African art collection yet and I loved how it was quite challenging to create especially the hair and particularly each row running through the hairstyle. I got some more inspiration for the background of my works just when I thought I was done.
The background shows some african patterns usually found on prints and native attires and it felt like a great idea to include them in each piece. That was probably the most tedious part of the art(maybe because of my approach where I had to draw the patterns separately and the use Picsart app to add the photos to the background. I did this because I wanted the patterns to be well aligned). As usual, I created the drawing with the scribble technique where I used then black colour for the skin and hair and white for the highlights. This collection was created using the autodesk sketchbook and I hope you love it. I'll be sharing the remaining works as I finish creating them so please watch out for them.
