Today i bring you another step by step. This time i took the opportunity to document the creation of my alien avatar for this interesting challenge:

Although it wasn't mandatory to post the creative process of our entry, i can't help but make this a great excuse to share all the details with you, as it's something i enjoy even though i admit i have some frustrating moments during the final adjustments to my blog. 😄

My Creative Process
Initial idea : Software to be used
I had a lot of things in my head as usual. So i decided to start with the design of the background and the text, since the main element, my beloved Alien was not very clear and i was running out of time, i admit that this pressure is a catalyst for me hahaha. Of course one of my key references would be the Hive logo, the gallery logo and its colors, or at least inspired by it.
- For the background graphics and text i used Adobe Illustrator cc.
- My alien avatar is a digital painting made in Adobe Photoshop cc.
- For the animated version, which is originally in mp4 format, i used Adobe After Effects.

When i start designing in these design softwares, i admit that i feel like a kid in a toy store, because as many of you may know, they have so many tools, effects, you can create and modify anything. During the process i always get a little sidetracked as i start experimenting with distorting things, it's a lot of fun. I'll write it down as therapy for those creative block days, because it really is efficient and relaxing.
As mentioned above:
I started with the background, since i decided to use vector software for this step, i used geometric figures that then applying distortion and transformation effects using the color palette of the gallery, i got as a result this pattern that even look like numbers, 888, very cosmic and alien, nothing was planned, i just got carried away by the tools.
For the text i used as a base Base Gill Sans Ultra Bold font, which i later modified to add the Hive logo and some alien eyes. By the way, i've always found typographic art super entertaining, i confess to be a fan of font banks, so i try not to enter those pages too much nowadays, because i end up hypnotized and i want to download them all. Maybe the simple fact of working with lines and patterns relaxes me, just like in traditional art. At the end, i added black and white lines that would be the element to animate.
My Alien Avatar | Digital Painting
I started creating a sketch in my little sketchbook but then i ended up changing the whole idea, my creature was born totally from improvisation. I wanted to add the Nftshowroom gallery logo because it looked like a kind of alien helmet, the funny thing is that now that i see it well, it looks like a Mayan pyramid surrounded by vegetation, i love that. I think this creature belongs to a species deeply linked to the earth, at least to the protection of nature, it is like a mutant. The two crystals on its face represent the 6th chakra called Ajna ( the third eye) and the 5th chakra called Vishuddha (throat, communication). So definitely this alien has every intention to have direct contact with earthlings. It is like an iridescent messenger and can see everything.

I think we all love designs with movements, plus they are always fun, from the beginning i thought of making two versions. Originally it was exported in mp4 format with better quality, but to be able to share it here i converted it to gif.
The process to make this simple and basic animation: I organized all the layers to animate previously on Illustrator and then i started my composition in Adobe After Effects. I only divided the animation in 2 parts to not complicate my life so much and i didn't want my laptop to explode because i have limited ram memory. 🤣
White and black lines I added the wave distortion effect to each one with different values as you can see in each image.
Alien Avatar and Text: I added the "wiggle" effect to both with equal value.
And ready to render...😉

Hoy nuevamente les traigo otro paso a paso. En esta oportunidad aproveché para documentar la creación de mi avatar alienígena para este reto tan interesante:

Aunque no era obligatorio publicar el proceso creativo de nuestra entrada, no puedo evitar hacer esto una gran excusa para compartirles todos los detalles, ya que es algo que disfruto aunque admito que tengo momentos un tanto frustrantes durante los ajustes finales para mi blog 😄

Mi Proceso Creativo
Idea inicial | Software a utilizar
Tenía muchas cosas en mi cabeza como siempre. Así que decidi comenzar por el diseño del fondo y el texto, ya que el elemento principal, mi querido Alien no lo tenia muy claro y ya se agotaba el tiempo, admito que esta presión es un catalizador para mi jajaja. Por supuesto que una de mis referencias clave serian el logo de Hive, el logo de la galeria y sus colores, o al menos inspirarme en ello.
- Para los gráficos de fondo y textos utilicé Adobe Illustrator cc.
- Mi avatar alienígena es una pintura digital hecha en Adobe Photoshop cc
- Para la versión animada que originalmente esta en formato mp4 utilicé Adobe After Effetcs.

Cuando comienzo a diseñar en estos softwares de diseño, admito que me siento como una niña en una juguetería, pues como muchos de ustedes sabrán, tienen tantas herramientas, efectos, se puede crear y modificar lo que sea. Durante el proceso siempre me desvío un poco pues empiezo a experimentar distorsionando cosas, es muy divertido. Lo anotaré como terapia para esos días de bloqueo creativo, porque realmente es eficiente y relajante.
Como mencione anteriormente:
Comencé con el fondo, ya que me decidí en usar para este paso un software vectorial, use figuras geométricas que luego aplicando efectos de distorsión y transformación usando la paleta de colores de la galería, obtuve como resultado este patrón que incluso parecen números, 888, muy cósmico y alienígena, nada fue planificado, solo me dejé llevar por las herramientas.
Para el texto usé como base la fuente tipográfica Base Gill Sans Ultra Bold que posteriormente modifiqué para agregarle el logo de Hive y unos ojitos alienígenas. Por cierto, siempre me ha parecido super entretenido el arte tipográfico, confieso ser fan de los bancos de fuentes, por eso trato de no entrar mucho a esas paginas en la actualidad, pues termino hipnotizada y quiero descargarlas todas. Tal vez el simple hecho de trabajar con líneas y patrones me relaja, así como en el arte tradicional. Al final, agregué líneas blancas y negras que serian el elemento a animar.
Mi alien Avatar | Pintura Digital
Comencé creando un boceto en mi pequeño sketchbook pero luego terminé cambiando toda la idea, mi criatura nació totalmente de la improvisación. Quería agregarle el logo de la galería Nftshowroom porque me parecía como una especie de casco alien, lo curioso es que ahora que lo veo bien, parece una pirámide Maya rodeada de vegetación, eso me encanta. Creo que esta criatura pertenece a una especie profundamente ligada a la tierra, al menos a la protección de la naturaleza, es como mutante. Los dos cristales en su rostro representan el 6to chakra llamado Ajna ( el tercer ojo) y el 5to chakra llamado Vishuddha (garganta, comunicación). Asi que definitivamente este alien tiene toda la intención de tener contacto directo con los terrícolas. Es como un mensajero iridiscente y puede verlo todo.

Creo que a todos nos encantan los diseños con movimientos, además siempre resultan divertidos, desde un principio pensé en hacer dos versiones. Originalmente fue exportada en formato mp4 con mejor calidad, pero para poder compartirla por este medio lo converti a gif.
El proceso para realizar esta simple y básica animación: organicé todas las capas a animar previamente en Illustrator y luego empecé mi composición en Adobe After Effects. Solo dividí la animación en 2 partes para no complicarme tanto la existencia ni tampoco quería que mi laptop explotara ya que cuento con una memoria ram limitada 🤣
Líneas blanca y negra les agregue el efecto de distorsión por ondas, a cada una con valores diferentes como pueden observar en cada imagen.
Alíen Avatar y Texto: a ambos les agregué el efecto "wiggle" con igual valor.
