They're phantoms in the waves, seesawing on the ebb and flow of the tide, in the lull of the bay, and the raging storm of the deep seas- onward we sail to the far ends of the world, east to west, to a land of myth, hounded by beasts who stare with their wicked eyes, north and south, in the frozen ice flows, obscured by clouds, listened to the ethereal music in foreign harbors, where the lights flickered in the heavy mist- then when the sky cleared, the reflection on the surface rippled gently in a calm day with little wind- we celebrated nocturnal rites, conjured up a pod of whales, ahoy fellow traveler! and further down against the rocks, the surf would be soft and tender.
This an attempt at creating a dreamy image of a steamship floating in the clouds with flying whales. Stable Diffusion generated a bunch of crazy images in which it fused the whales with the ships, and these two caught my attention. The dreamlike quality of the pieces inspired the accompanying text, which is 100% human generated. I listened to the Ink Spots' I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire in a loop, then I imagined myself inside a dream and tried to capture the surrealness of it using a pseudo-stream-of-consciousness approach and word-play. I also drank lots and lots of coffee. ☕️
