Oshuur Constantia vs Scorch Fiend | Splinterlands Fan Art

Place your bets, the fight of the night is here!

It's Splinterlands Saturday, or those of us who make the entry for the contest at the last minute, I wasn't really planning to make an entry for the contest this week, since yesterday I finished Jin from the Oni collection, and I had less than 24 hours to make something for the contest, it was practically impossible to achieve something decent in such a short time, but the official Splinterlands account released the story of Oshuur Constantina, and I liked her design and the narration of her story so much, that I had to start drawing her immediately.

But I wanted a battle, so the best enemy for this scene would be the presence of the Uul god in Splinterlands, the fire element corruption, the Scorch Fiend. I have no doubt that he is not enough of a match for Oshuur, but a fight between them would be magnificent, even more so because of the difference in size, although in magic there is no comparison.

🔰Process🔰

-Step 1:

There was not enough time to make an organized sketch, so I took a brush and painted the shapes of the characters, although I stopped a little longer on Oshuur, since his figure had to be proportionate.

-Step 2:

With the fusion modes "color", "soft light" and "overlay", I gave the first glimpses of color to the scene, here I took more attention on the Scorch Fiend since its illuminations due to the lava would be more striking. Oshuur's skin looks ugly and very dark as with these fusion modes it's a bit difficult to achieve his skin tone directly from the gray.

-Step 3:

But I didn't feel like having Oshuur in such a bad state, so I focused directly on his skin, taking as a reference the colors of the card design, by the way until now I realize that who design the Splinterlands cards is Candycal studio, they have already won a new fan 😊

-Step 4:

The room where this battle is located is a large room with tall columns, I wanted the Scorch Fiend to lean on one of these columns and crack it, but I could not fit the hand correctly as it only has three fingers, and if it is complicated to make human hands, it is more complicated to make hands with fewer fingers when you have spent so much time on hands with five fingers, so I placed the arm in a new position where it would cover Oshuur and thus avoid having to detail it more, time was running out.

-Step 5:

It was not possible for me to add more details, as many as I would have liked, but I am very happy, I have achieved all this in about 5 hours, it seems like a long time, but when you are in front of the tablet painting and painting time flies by, and I have achieved the same result as in an illustration to which I would have spent about eleven hours, that's why I say that I love to participate in the Splinterlands contests because they make me improve a lot as an artist ❤️
