Hello hivers. For me, the tiger is the most beautiful animal that exists on this planet, with the permission of cats of course 🤭, so today I wanted to paint one. It's the first time I painted a tiger with watercolor.
Los tigres viven en el continente asiático y lamentablemente, están en peligro de extinción gracias al ser humano 🙄😒. Son animales solitarios, y a diferencia del resto de los felinos, les encanta el agua 💧🐯. Acompáñenme a seguir el proceso creativo de este trabajo artístico 🎨🖌️.

Para esta obra de arte utilicé cartón reciclado de una caja de producto para el cabello, acuarelas, agua, pinceles, lápiz, borrador, un poquito de pintura blanca y un lápiz de color blanco. Empecé haciendo el boceto inicial con un lápiz.
For this artwork I used recycled cardboard from a hair product box, watercolors, water, brushes, pencil, eraser, a little bit of white paint and a white pencil. I started by making the initial sketch with a pencil.
La piel de los tigres destaca por la hermosa combinación de blanco, naranja y negro, pero en la misma también se puede apreciar un poquito de amarillo, gris y marrón. El color base es el amarillo, así que empecé pintando la cara del tigre con este tono y después con anaranjado.
The skin of the tigers stands out for the beautiful combination of white, orange and black, but you can also see a little yellow, gray and brown. The base color is yellow, so I started by painting the tiger's face with this tone and then with orange.
Lo que hace que un tigre sea un tigre son sus rayas, así que llegó el turno de darles color con negro, y a las fosas nasales también. Las rayas de los tigres son como huellas dactilares, cada diseño es único en cada individuo, y no sólo son un patrón presente en el pelaje, ya que las mismas también están impresas en la piel. Aparte del negro usé un naranja oscuro para oscurecer algunas partes del rostro del tigre en las que destaca este color.
What makes a tiger a tiger are his stripes, so it was time to color them with black, and the nostrils too. Tiger stripes are like fingerprints, each design is unique to each individual, and they aren't only a pattern present in the fur, since they are also printed on the skin. Apart from black, I used a dark orange to darken some parts of the tiger's face where this color stands out.
El hábitat más común de los tigres es la selva así que pinté el fondo de un verde claro y le agregué unas plantas alargadas que son muy típicas de los ríos y lagos donde los tigres disfrutan de darse un baño.
The most common habitat for tigers is the jungle so I painted the background a light green and added some elongated plants that are very typical of the rivers and lakes where tigers enjoy taking a bath.
Los tigres tienen ojos pequeños y de un color que combina perfectamente con su pelaje. Para pintarlos apliqué una base amarilla, luego agregué naranja y un poquito de rojo en la parte externa, por último pinté la pupila y agregué más color negro alrededor del ojo. También pinté la nariz con naranja y después una mezcla de naranja y marrón.
Tigers have small eyes and a color that perfectly matches their fur. To paint them I applied a yellow base, then I added orange and a little red on the outside, finally I painted the pupil and added more black around the eye. I also painted the nose with orange and then a mix of orange and brown.
Apliqué gris en la mandíbula y parte del cuello así como en algunas partes del rostro, agregué verde oscuro al fondo para darle un aspecto selvático, y con ese mismo color pinté más vegetación en la parte inferior.
I applied gray on the jaw and part of the neck as well as on some parts of the face, I added dark green to the background to give it a jungle look, and with that same color I painted more vegetation at the bottom.
Para pintar los bigotes y las vibrisas (así se llaman las cejas de los felinos), usé un lápiz de color blanco ya que la acuarela blanca no destacaba 🤷🏻♀️. Con un poquito de pintura blanca hice unos puntos de luz en el ojo.
To paint the whiskers, I used a white pencil since the white watercolor didn't stand out 🤷🏻♀️. With a little bit of white paint I made some light points in the eye.
Unos últimos detalles en la oreja, las rayas y las plantas para darles más realismo.
A few last details on the ear, the stripes and the plants to give them more realism.
Y este es el resultado final. Un hermoso tigre que asecha sigiloso y atento entre el follaje de la selva.
And this is the final result. A beautiful tiger that lurks stealthily and attentively among the foliage of the jungle.
Por lo general, cuando veo algo muy hermoso y pienso en pintarlo siento que será una tarea difícil y complicada jajaja, pero quedé sorprendida al ver lo fácil que se me hizo pintar este tigre, que como ya les comenté, es el primero que pinto con la técnica de la acuarela jejeje. El resultado me ha encantado y siento que voy por buen camino con la acuarela 😃.
Usually, when I see something very beautiful and think about painting it, I feel that it will be a difficult and complicated task hahaha, but I was surprised to see how easy it was for me to paint this tiger, which, as I already told you, is the first one I have painted with the watercolor technique hehehe. I loved the result and I feel like I'm on the right track with watercolor 😃.
