Good morning or good evening to you,

Today's challenge was to create some sort of Alien tech that is capable of producing energy. Something that Aliens consider a power plant. And I wanted it to look cool.

The Process

I started with a sphere cut in half.

Here it is arrayed using object array (tip add an empty to the center of the half cut sphere)

After array, now apply the build modifier and set random option in build.

Now the cool part, setting the colors and lighting, I've marked in the picture what I have done.

And voila the Final Render :
