Splinterlands Art Contest - Week 265 - Ice Pixie

Hey there, folks. Another Splinter Art Contest, we got. (Read it like Yoda, I guess) and I'm even more thrilled to share this week's are with y'all, so without further ado, let's dive right in...

The Process

This week I chose to draw the Ice Pixie. For the first few steps, nothing major happened, so we'll just cover those parts briefly.

Giving Her Life

I've noticed that carefully drawn eyes play a vital role in breathing life into your characters and shaping them into the characters they're supposed to be. I just find myself devoting more and more time to detailing those and it's been so much fun tbh.

The Background

I figured that she'd look good in a forest, so I tried adding some trees in the dark in the background. Initially, they didn't look much like trees, but rather some odd lines in the background.

So I resorted to the good ol' glow and shade technique and tried giving the place some more life and light (possibly emitted from the Pixie herself) and it started taking some shape slowly.

The Result

And here's the result. In the end, I drew some fireflies around her in the forest (highly inspired by last week's Firecaller's embers) and I really love how it fits the whole picture.

Her wings also lacked details, so I tried giving hers some fine details and making them look like a butterfly's wings and I think it really played into how she is surrounded by fireflies in the forest.

Anyway, that's it for today's drawing. Hope y'all enjoyed it, and I wish y'all a really nice weekend...
Cheers~
