If I asked you to choose an anime from your childhood, I'm sure most of you would think of Dragon Ball Z or Naruto. In my case, I think of Digimon: Digital Monsters. A series that accompanied me for a large part of my childhood and that I have a lot of nostalgia for.

The surprising thing about this series is that despite having seen it when I was a child, today I recognize that it is quite good. Many times it happens that we go back to see what we enjoyed as a child and we are embarrassed. Whether it's because it's childish, ridiculous, bad, etc. But with Digimon that doesn't happen. I would even say that the opposite happens.
Lo sorprendente de esta serie es que a pesar de haberla visto cuando era niño, al día de hoy reconozco que es bastante buena. Muchas veces ocurre que volvemos a ver lo que disfrutábamos de niño y nos da vergüenza. Ya sea por lo infantil, ridículo, malo, etc. Pero con Digimon no pasa eso. Hasta diría que pasa lo opuesto.
It was gratifying to realize that this series had a lot of heart and soul. It has a good plot, character development, soundtrack and more. I'm not saying it's a masterpiece, but it's definitely an excellent choice for kids.

One thing I remember very vividly is the music. Digimon's soundtrack is too good. I liked the opening, the music they played at the moment of digivolution was fantastic and the one they used for sad moments was sublime. And those are just the most relevant examples, but there is more good music.

I want to mention an epic scene that I'm sure will strike a chord of nostalgia in more than one person. I'm talking about when Patamon manages to digievolve into Angemon. This scene makes my skin crawl. Because of the context and because the change between Patamon and Angemon is so surprising. It's like the evolution from Magikarp to Gyarados. I can say that this digimon was my favorite. It has the best design of all. I love it.

I don't know if anyone will remember it, but the ending is super emotional. After saving the digital world, the chosen children must return to their world. They get on a train and say goodbye to their digimons. At one point Tanemon stumbles and the opening song plays, but in a cappella. It is difficult to explain with words that scene. You should watch it, it is very emotional and captivating.
No sé si alguno lo vaya a recordar, pero el final es superemotivo. Luego de salvar el mundo digital, los niños elegidos deben volver a su mundo. Se suben a un tren y se despiden de sus digimones. En un momento Tanemon se tropieza y suena la canción del opening, pero en a capela. Es complicado explicar con palabras esa escena. Deberían verla, es muy emotiva y cautivadora.
I understand that after Digimon Adventure several versions came out, but with different children chosen. For example, Digimon Tamers, Frontier, etc. In particular, none of them caught my attention. Besides, I feel that at a certain point, the franchise was overexploited. I always say, I hate it when a hit is overexploited.
Tengo entendido que luego de Digimon Adventure salieron varias versiones, pero con distintos niños elegidos. Por ejemplo, Digimon Tamers, Frontier, etc. En lo particular, no me llamó la atención ninguna. Aparte siento que en un cierto punto, se explotó de más la franquicia. Siempre lo digo, detesto cuando exprimen demasiado un éxito.
In conclusion, I am proud that Digimon: Digital Monsters was part of my childhood. And it makes me a little sad to believe that there are no series with this quality for future generations. Or yes, but I doubt it very much. Now almost everything is made to sell the most, with the least effort and heart.
