ONE PIECE - WANO ARC ( live to fight another day)

It has been a relaxing weekend so far owing to the fact that i had little to do. It was refreshing as there was no work and i had time to watch the backlog episodes of my favorite Anime- One piece.

Life gets too busy atimes that we forget to actually live and have fun rather than just existing and trying to get by every single day. This weekend was one of those where i took a pause to the over seriousness of life and the barrage of negative news coming from every part of the world ranging from wildfires to afghan bombings to kidnappings and killer herdsmen in Nigeria to say the least.

But taking a pause from all that to actually have fun by watching one piece, i realized that the world in one piece is similar to the world we are in. In the world there are those who try to oppress every other person they come accross just because they posses immense power, wealth and connections. They see every other person as low class and beneath them. They have no regard for authority as they are the authorities, they control the politics of their various domain and are next to untouchable. Just like Kaido in Wano, Big mom, Doflamingo in Dresrossa and jack in zou. These few people possess powers that topples even that of the government. They are almost invincible and untouchable.

However, wherever there is the existence of evil and darkness there is always a glimmer of light, a ray of hope and a sign of freedom for the oppressed. As they say there is no ying without a yang it’s opposite side of same coin. Luffy and the straw-hats pirate and his alliance with other well meaning pirates represents this light in the one piece world.

What baffles me the most is that despite it being an anime, it has been a mirror through which we see the world and the realities of the world. Luffy unlike any other hero isn’t one that find things easy. He has encountered the worst fate possible but he kept ok going because he has a resolve to be the king of the pirate (Kaizoku o re wa naru).

He keeps fighting enemies as he goes deeper into the grandline and makes friends and other pirate alliances on his way. But something spetacular happens everytime. Anytime he faces enemies with highest bounty than his he doesn’t feel daunted but instead his resolve becomes stronger. Eventually he loses the fight but he’d always come back to fight.

This happened with katakuri, he kept on running till he was able to fight again and now at the wano arc he fought with Kaido lost the first battle was imprisoned but he continued to train and learn and develop himself on how to defeat the strongest man in the one piece world. His resolve is greater than his defeat.

One thing i want us to realize as humans is there is no limitation to what we can do once we have a firm resolve and determination. Even when we lose a battle the moment we run away doesn’t make us a coward it make us to go and prepare for a greater come back to defeat the situation.
