Hello everyone dear fellow otaku, I hope you are feeling great today... this time I want to talk about a particular and interesting anime. It's an anime that is quite a journey, haha. I watched it some time ago, but I didn't remember it until recently and I thought, I have to review it, because it really is unique. Today I'm going to tell you about the anime: Gamers! I have to tell you that this anime, even though its title is what it is, is not so much about video games... I know, this is a bit shocking.. but I want to spare you the disappointment that some real gamers might get when they get into this anime thinking it's going to be entirely about video games, and well, that's not the case... I feel like I'm making a bit of a spoiler haha, but I think it's not much and it's necessary to mention. This anime in essence is a romantic comedy, a genre that often relies on misunderstandings between characters.. and I can tell you that this series takes this resource to a whole new and unimaginable level, haha.
Imagine a group of high school students, all passionate about videogames, but in their own way.. Trying to get into the turbulent waters of love and friendship.. now, to all this, add a good dose of misunderstandings, awkward encounters and lots of blushing cheeks, and I think you can find yourself with a pretty funny anime.. The main story revolves around Keita Amano.. a typical high school student who finds solace in the world of video games, but prefers to keep his passion on the down low.. enjoying gaming as a way to relax and escape reality, but not bragging too much about it. One day, he has a chance encounter with Karen, the popular girl at school.. she's popular, smart, beautiful, she's everything you can imagine, the perfect girl.... But, to his surprise, she is also a big gamer, and invites him to join the school's gamers club... obviously, this is where it all starts to get out of control and where the fun begins.
Hola a todos queridos compañeros otakus, espero que se encuentren genial en el día de hoy.. en esta ocasión les quiero hablar de un anime particular e interesante. Es un anime que es todo un viaje, jaja. Yo lo vi hace algún tiempo, pero no lo recordaba hasta recientemente y pensé, tengo que hacer la reseña, porque realmente es único. Hoy les hablaré del anime: Gamers!. Tengo que decirles que este anime, aunque su título sea el que es, no trata tanto sobre videojuegos.. lo sé, esto es un poco chocante.. pero quiero ahorrarles la decepción que pueden llegar a tener algunos gamers de verdad al meterse en este anime pensando que va a tratar enteramente de videojuegos, y pues, no es el caso.. Siento que les hago un poco de spoiler jaja, pero creo que no es mucho y es necesario de mencionar. Este anime en esencia es una comedia romántica, un género que a menudo se basa en malentendidos entre los personajes.. y puedo decirles que esta serie lleva este recurso a un nivel completamente nuevo e inimaginable, jaja.
Imagina a un grupo de estudiantes de secundaria, todos apasionados por los videojuegos, pero a su manera.. Tratando de meterse en las turbulentas aguas del amor y la amistad.. ahora, a todo esto, añádanle una buena dosis de malentendidos, encuentros incómodos y muchas mejillas sonrojadas, y creo que te puedes encontrar con un anime bastante divertido.. La historia principal gira en torno a Keita Amano.. un típico estudiante de secundaria que encuentra consuelo en el mundo de los videojuegos, pero prefiere mantener su pasión en un perfil bajo.. disfrutando de los juegos como una forma de relajarse y escapar de la realidad, pero sin alardear mucho sobre esto. Un día, tiene un encuentro fortuito con Karen, la chica popular de la escuela.. ella es popular, inteligente, hermosa, es todo lo que te imagines, la chica perfecta.. Pero, para su sorpresa, ella también es una gran gamer, y lo invita a unirse al club de gamers de la escuela.. obviamente, es aquí es donde todo empieza a descontrolarse y donde comienza la diversión.
Our protagonist is unsure about joining the club, and constantly refuses the offer. This sets off a chain reaction of many misunderstandings, with Karen misinterpreting his refusal as something else entirely, to this equation other characters are added, such as Uehara, a fellow gamer who hides as much as possible all his passion, and his non-gamer girlfriend Aguri... later on Chiaki, a shy girl who joins Amano because of their shared love for a particular mobile game, joins the group, and presto, you have the recipe for comic chaos....
As I was telling you, the title may lead you to think that it's all about video games, but it's not, the anime focuses mostly on the relationships between the characters, and how their shared love for the games intersects with all the difficulties of their personal student lives. Think of it this way, the video games are like the backdrop, the stage where all the romantic drama and comedic disasters unfold, I think that's the main beauty of this anime, it mainly lies in finding the humor in the very mundane and least expected situations. All the misunderstandings, while frustrating at times, are the driving force behind all the comedy in the series.. You know it's going to be a disaster, but you can't help but watch it for fun and see what will happen..
Now, as for the animation, I feel it's not revolutionary or particularly innovative, it does the job. The character designs are cute and expressive, capturing all the awkwardness and excitement of being a teenager, the animation behind the gameplay sequences is interesting, and for fans of this type of video game you're sure to find many cool references to popular games... Surely if you are a fan of video games and you get into this anime, you will be able to recognize and identify many specific situations or references, this can make the experience much more engaging...
Nuestro protagonista está inseguro acerca de unirse al club, y rechaza constantemente la oferta. Esto desencadena una reacción en cadena de muchos malentendidos, con Karen malinterpretando su negativa como algo totalmente distinto, a esta ecuación se añaden otros personajes, como Uehara, un compañero gamer que oculta lo más que puede toda su pasión, y a su novia, no gamer, Aguri.. posteriormente se une al grupo Chiaki, una chica tímida que se une a Amano por su amor compartido por un juego de móvil en particular, y listo, tienes la receta para el caos cómico..
Como les decía, el título puede llevarles a pensar que todo gira en torno a videojuegos, pero no es así, el anime se centra más que nada en las relaciones entre los personajes, y cómo su amor compartido por los juegos se cruza con todas las dificultades de sus vidas personales de estudiante. Piensen en esto de la siguiente manera, los videojuegos son como el telón de fondo, el escenario donde se desarrolla todo el drama romántico y los desastres cómicos, creo que esa es la principal belleza de este anime, radica principalmente en encontrar el humor en las situaciones tan mundanas y menos esperadas. Todos los malentendidos, aunque frustrantes a veces, son la fuerza que impulsa toda la comedia de la serie.. Sabes que va a ser un desastre, pero no puedes evitar mirarlo por diversión y ver que pasará..
Ahora, en cuanto a la animación, siento que no es revolucionaria ni particularmente innovadora, cumple su función. Los diseños de los personajes son lindos y expresivos, capturando toda la incomodidad y la emoción de ser un adolescente, la animación detrás de las secuencias de juego está interesante, y para los fanáticos de este tipo de videojuegos seguro encuentran muchas referencias geniales a juegos populares.. Seguramente si eres fan de los videojuegos y te adentras en este anime, podrás reconocer e identificar muchas situaciones o referencias específicas, esto puede hacer que la experiencia sea mucho más atractiva..
As for the characters, they are a mixed and odd ensemble.. the main character, Amano, can be frustratingly indecisive at times. This can cause many people to not quite connect with him.. he's an insecure guy who is plagued by self-doubt and often overthinks situations too much, which leads, of course, to more misunderstandings. But hey, I think I feel a bit of empathy for him... On the other hand, we have Karen, who is the idol of the school, the girl who is seemingly perfect, but is really a pretty normal and simple girl, who is simply passionate about video games. She is portrayed as a rather silly person at times, and I think she is one of the characters that I liked the most, after all, she is a girl who is not trying to be popular... she was just lucky enough to fit into certain beauty standards, but in reality, what she is really passionate about is video games...
This girl is determined to make Amano join the gamers club... and although her persistence can sometimes be a bit overwhelming, it's funny in the end... The other characters each bring their own quirks to the group, adding quite a few interesting layers to the tangled web of relationships. One of the things that surprised me most about Gamers was its ability to touch on video game related topics in a very enjoyable way, both for fans of gamer culture and for those who aren't as accustomed to these games.. the anime pokes fun at quite a few stereotypes associated with gamers, various obsessions, the struggle to balance gaming and real life responsibilities, and the sometimes toxic competitiveness that exists in the gamer community. It's a light, comedic way that doesn't feel condescending and that you can easily understand, whether you're a gamer fan or not.
En cuanto a los personajes, son un conjunto mixto y extraño.. el protagonista, Amano, puede ser frustrantemente indeciso a veces. Esto puede ocasionar que muchas personas no conecten del todo con él.. es un chico inseguro que está plagado de dudas y a menudo sobrepiensa demasiado las situaciones, lo que lleva, por supuesto, a más malentendidos. Pero bueno, creo que siento un poco de empatía hacia él.. Por otro lado, tenemos a Karen, quien es la ídolo de la escuela, la chica que aparentemente es perfecta, pero realmente es una chica bastante normal y sencilla, que simplemente es apasionada por los videojuegos. La retratan como una persona bastante tonta en algunas ocasiones, y creo que es de los personajes que más me gustaron, al fin y al cabo, es una chica que no intenta ser popular.. simplemente tuvo la suerte de encajar en ciertos cánones de belleza, pero en realidad, lo que más verdaderamente la apasiona son los videojuegos..
Esta chica está decidida en hacer que, Amano se una al club de gamers.. y aunque su persistencia a veces puede ser un poco abrumadora, al final es gracioso.. Los otros personajes, cada uno, aporta sus peculiaridades dentro del grupo, añadiendo bastantes capas interesantes a la enredada red de relaciones. Una de las cosas que más me sorprendió de Gamers fue su capacidad para tocar los temas relacionados con videojuegos de una manera muy agradable, tanto para los fanáticos de la cultura gamer como para los que no están tan acostumbrados a estos juegos.. el anime se burla de bastantes estereotipos asociados a los gamers, diversas obsesiones, la lucha para equilibrar los juegos y las responsabilidades de la vida real, y la competitividad a veces tóxica que hay en la comunidad gamer. Es una manera ligera y cómica que no se siente condescendiente y que puedes entender fácilmente, ya seas o no fanático de los videojuegos.
Overall, Gamers! is a fun anime, even if it's not the most innovative or deepest... it's a series that manages to captivate you with its own absurdity, offering a constant stream of laughs and embarrassing moments that will surely make you laugh at some point. It's the kind of anime you watch when you want to turn off your brain for a while and just enjoy the ride, I think if you're in the mood for a light romantic comedy, with a touch of gamers references, you might give it a chance.... It might surprise you in a way you might not expect. I give it a 7.5/10 rating.
As I said, it's not perfect, but it's a charming and surprisingly entertaining anime that amused me so much at the time, just remembering it, I think it makes me want to watch it again. If you're prepared for a good dose of misunderstandings, you're sure to have a good time.... I'll leave the opening of this anime below. It's a reminder that sometimes the best stories are the ones that embrace the absurdities and messiness of life, especially when it comes to love and friendship... En general, Gamers! es un anime divertido, incluso si no es el más innovador o profundo.. es una serie que logra cautivarte con su propia absurdidad, ofreciendo una corriente constante de risas y momentos vergonzosos que seguramente te harán reír en algún momento. Es el tipo de anime que ves cuando quieres apagar el cerebro por un rato y simplemente disfrutar el viaje, creo que si están de humor para una comedia romántica ligera, con un toque de referencias gamers, pueden darle una oportunidad.. Podría sorprenderlos de una manera que tal vez no se esperaban. Yo les doy de calificación un 7.5/10.
Como les dije, no es perfecto, pero es un anime encantador y sorprendentemente entretenido que me divirtió mucho en su momento, de solo recordar, creo que me dan ganas de verlo otra vez. Si están preparados para una buena dosis de malentendidos, seguro la pasarán bien.. Les dejaré por aquí abajo el opening de este anime. Es un recordatorio de que a veces las mejores historias son las que abrazan las cosas absurdas y el enredo relacionados con la vida, especialmente cuando se trata de amor y amistad..
