This piece of Rosé Thomas, Rose Anderson, Winry Rockbell, Megumi Minami, Maya Orihara, Solty Revant, and Kaoru Ichinose fan art, which is my submission for DeviantArt's 2023 International Women's Month is dedicated to all of the fans of Rosé Thomas and Winry Rockbell from Fullmetal Alchemist, Rose Anderson and Solty Revant from Solty Rei, Maya Orihara from Ultra Maniac, and Megumi Minami and Kaoru Ichinose from Detective School Q. Sit back, relax, and soak in that Rosé, Rose, Winry, Megumi, Maya, Solty, and Kaoru goodness, especially when they are donning their martial arts attires.
Here we have 36 going on 37-year-old Rosé Thomas, 35 going on 36-year-old Rose Anderson, 34 going on 35-year-old Winry Rockbell, 34-year-olds Megumi Minami and Maya Orihara, and 33 going on 34-year-olds Solty Revant and Kaoru Ichinose being the fantastic fighter ladies that they are. The Seven Scintillating Sirens, as they are called, all specialize in Korean martial arts, given the number of punches, kicks, strikes, and takedowns they can unleash on any hellion who dares to have their way with them. These seven ladies may seem charitable, kind, appreciative, and unconditionally loving to everybody they meet. However, once they enter the arena, they are combatants capable of inflicting pain and panic to their opponents. Given the number of times I have been watching Karate Combat on YouTube as well as played Street Fighter and Tekken when I was a little boy, I thought it would be great if I designed their martial arts uniforms, gloves, and footguards based on the aesthetics of Karate Combat, Street Fighter, and Tekken. With that said, let us get to know The Seven Striking Sirens better.
Entering her 37th year this coming August 17 is Rosé Thomas who specializes in Yongmudo. Her forest green attire symbolizes her oneness with nature and love for all living creatures as well as being based on the color worn in Yongmudo uniforms. She demonstrates leverage and accuracy through her front punches, front kicks, joint locks, elbow strikes, leg wheels, ridge hand strikes, and hammer fists, for her strikes are constantly on target and her grapples are relentlessly pulverizing. There is no opponent too strong or too skilled for Rosé to overcome because she is always mentally and physically prepared for every challenge. Rose runs a youth center for disadvantaged children and teenagers, thus using her love for nature and meditation to show youths that life is precious and should never be taken for granted. She also uses her profession as a youth worker and proprietor of her youth center to teach youths Yongmudo to defend themselves and help each other to not inflict violence against other people. When not engaging in Yongmudo and her youth center duties, Rose also loves quiet nature walks and spiritual meditation.
Approaching her 36th year this coming July 13 is Rose Anderson who specializes in Gongkwon Yusul. Her cobalt blue attire symbolizes her clear focus in everything she does and her unrelenting code of honor that has seen her keep her word as a warrior and as a person. She possesses grand power and force through her overhand punches, knife hand strikes, knee strikes, roundhouse kicks, armbars, hip throws, and ankle locks to beat her opponents into submission. Any and every opponent Rose fights against is a welcome challenge for her not only in terms of strength but also in terms of using her skills in Gongkwon Yusul to protect people and communities. Rose used to be a bandit seeking for trouble but has since abandoned that lifestyle to train as a police officer and find herself having a high-ranking position as a commander of a police force, thus ensuring justice and security for everybody. Aside from her great skills as a fighter and her duties as a police commander, Rose also loves riding on motorcycles, engaging in motocross, and partaking in extreme sports, thus showing the wild side that she was born with.
Coming into her 35th year this coming June 9 is Winry Rockbell who specializes in Kuk Sool Won. Her indigo attire symbolizes her nobility and honor as a person as well as her insurmountable dedication as a valorous combatant full of guts, stamina, stealth, and fortitude. She incorporates total body strength and abundant formidability through her uppercuts, submission holds, pressure point strikes, thrust kicks, spinal locks, ox jaw strikes, and liver punches which can make her opponents either run away in fear or give her their all-encompassing respect and allegiance. Whenever opponents throw the first strike to Winry, she would quickly evade those attacks and overcome them with any and every strike and/or grapple she has in her arsenal. Winry's power and toughness as a Kuk Sool Won warrior aside, she is also a professional mechanic with a keen eye for detail, motion, leverage, and precision, thus using her martial arts experience and fascination for robotics to create inventions that are beneficial for fighters in the battlefield. Furthermore, Winry also loves visiting museums focusing on physics, robotics, and machinery.
Currently 34 years old since February 4 is Megumi Minami who specializes in Hwa Rang Do. Her violet attire symbolizes her unparalleled balance of heightened mental cognizance, upright moral standards as a person, and unwavering concentration in all walks of life. She applies elevated physical awareness and uplifted mental conscientiousness through her spear hand strikes, double leg takedowns, leg kicks, back fists, clock chokes, palm heel strikes, and sprawls as main weapons in her arsenal to take her opponents down as well as prevent fiends from having their way with her. Once opponents have a go at Megumi, they will immediately regret attempting to have their way with her because she has a sharp mind and total awareness of her surroundings, thanks to her clear photographic memory, to make them cease and desist. Megumi is also a forensic detective who uses her keen senses to uphold justice and ensure that criminals do a hard time behind bars. Hwa Rang Do work and detective duties aside, Megumi also loves mathematics and physics as well as watching traditional Japanese music concerts.
Presently 34 years old since March 6 is Maya Orihara who specializes in Tang Soo Do. Her red attire symbolizes her volatile passion for constantly improving herself as an overall person as well as using her passion to encourage people to constantly persevere even in the direst of situations. She utilizes quick reflexes and relentless ferocity through her flying knees, shin kicks, haymaker punches, front snap kicks, leglocks, knee wheels, and side circle throws that serve as her main propellers in overcoming her opponents. If opponents believe that Maya cannot do anything to defend herself, they would be in for a rude awakening once she inflicts untold damage on them. Maya's Tang Soo Do capabilities also come in handy as a sorceress, thus showing that she is not afraid to go physical on anybody brazen enough to touch her inappropriately, as well as a middle school homeroom teacher focusing on English Literature and Linguistics to discipline her young students well. Moreover, Maya loves fine art, especially Renaissance and Classical paintings, and has a penchant for high-end fashion as well as fashion of past eras.
Rapidly arriving at 34 years old this coming April 8 is Solty Revant who specializes in Kong Soo Do. Her orange attire symbolizes her unwavering outgoingness as a person brimming with joie de vivre to make life better for everybody she meets amidst all contention and problems. She employs intrepid flexibility and pulsating speed through her spinning back kicks, reverse punches, hip throws, push sweeps, spinning hook kicks, neck throws, and wrist locks that can create a world of pain as well as deliver huge portions of bodily raucousness to her opponents. Should opponents be so brazen to underestimate Solty as a fighter, she would easily prove them wrong by demonstrating her unparalleled relentlessness, especially powered by her peerless combat prowess and unquestionable physical fortitude. Solty's skills in Kong Soo Do are also in full evidence working in the police force as well as being a nurse for the military to use them to protect and heal people. Additionally, Solty loves international cuisine, and she can prepare palatable meals from the ingredients that she harvests in her garden and buys from the grocery.
Quickly transitioning to 34 years old this coming May 10 is Kaoru Ichinose who specializes in Soo Bahk Do. Her yellow attire symbolizes her charismatic positivity as a person who always does her best to make life better for everybody that she cares about but is not one to take kindly to anybody taking advantage of her kindness, compassion, and warmth. She bestows phenomenal valor and terrific vivacity through her axe kicks, calf kicks, leopard blows, hooks, stamp throws, major wheels, and small joint manipulations that can subdue her opponents exceedingly well and with much leverage as well as with much deadly accuracy in her combat skills. Kaoru's discipline and dedication as a Soo Bahk Doo fighter translate nicely into her field as an investigator who solves cold cases and does her very best to uphold the law as well as protect people from the criminal life, thus showing commitment to her craft as a martial artist and as a law enforcer. In addition, Kaoru loves crocheting, knitting, and fashion design, baking desserts from cakes to pies to pastries, and creating culinary delicacies focusing on fruits, yogurt, and honey.
Rosé Thomas with her skill in Yongmudo, Rose Anderson with her ability in Gongkwon Yusul, Winry Rockbell with her capability in Kuk Sool Won, Megumi Minami with her prowess in Hwa Rang Do, Maya Orihara with drive in Tang Soo Do, Solty Revant with her credential in Kong Soo Do, and Kaoru Ichinose with her experience in Soo Bahk Do illustrate that these seven upstanding ladies mean business when it comes to overcoming their opponents and protecting those in dire need. Therefore, their martial arts skills and exceptional will to protect others can never be underestimated, and they also have each other to depend on soul sisters who can punch, kick, strike, and grapple loads of butt. It was really fun and interesting creating this because I grew up with these wonderful ladies from Fullmetal Alchemist, Solty Rei, Ultra Maniac, and Detective School Q during my formative middle school years of 12 to 14 years old even before I went to high school. Nothing could ever quench my euphoria for having these seven fine ladies playing great roles in my life growing up.
