Runescape 3 Theory-Crafting: Renewable Planks on a Restricted Account

The first step in getting renewable normal and oak planks is again, hunting spirit implings. Each impling drop table is quite useful, but since a lot of resources can be gathered from foraging familiars, spirit implings in particular are important. The goal is to acquire an empty pouch to summon a familiar, but there are other drops which can save additional steps. The main drops needed for this process are summoning pouches, and willow logs, but getting green charms can save on charm hunting from monsters, and getting bronze bars and a fishbowl can remove later steps when going for renewable teak and mahogany logs. The next step is to acquire spirit shards, which can be gathered from sedimentary or igneous geodes, being more common from sedimentary geodes. Geodes are acquired through mining, which is why this process requires a mining spot, with lower level mining spots being preferable. Most summoning obelisks also have a summoning supply store, which does remove the need to gather pouches and spirit shards, as they can be bought directly, but if your account is locked to Karamja, for example, which lacks a summoning supply store, the above methods can still be used. Using the shards, pouch, and willow logs, make a beaver pouch. The beaver will forage for various logs, as well as normal and oak planks for construction training. This grants access to renewable normal and oak planks, as well as most tiers of logs, but for teak and mahogany planks there is a different method.

The first step in making teak planks consistently renewable is to acquire teak planks, and there are a few different roads to try. A few monsters drop the teak planks directly, but they are also fairly common on the rare drop table, which is an additional drop table many higher level monsters can access. There are not a lot of sawmills in the game, so most regions must attain the planks directly instead of milling logs. An alternate method is to access the planks by completing medium clues, which is substantially easier in RS3 than having to juggle clues in OSRS. The next step is to make the driftwood prawn broker in the player owned house to get access to prawn balls. Using a fishing spot, the player can then gather prawn balls, which can be opened for various rewards, many of which are useful for the ironman, with baron sharks in particular making for great end-game food. But the focus for this tutorial is to get the mermaid purse decoration, and to install three in the player owned aquarium, then to get a porthole or set of telescope lenses to make the mermaid diving suit or better. This also requires bronze bars and a fishbowl, which can be gathered from spirit implings, or crafted from raw materials in some regions. Each week, by diving down in the bathysphere, the player can loot twenty teak or mahogany planks from each purse, with up to three purses allowed to be placed in the aquarium, this gives the player a mix of sixty teak and mahogany planks each week, which can help to train up construction for even more useful unlocks in the player owned house.
