Hello Hive people,
My interpretation of our oceans and seas joins my "Portrait of a woman" series today. Yes, the element of water is often represented as a goddess or assigned to the feminine aspect. Some cultures also call the ocean something like "Mother Sea".
When I was drawing it, I thought "oh, cool. Today I'll make it short, quick and painless!" But I almost sat on it all day. About 8 hours of meditative drawing and immersed in the picture.
Even if I wanted to, I couldn't recreate the thoughts I had during that time. At first I just wanted to do simple line art. Then just the fill tool and I was done.
While drawing, I thought something like "Hm, I could make the face finer and leave the rest rough, that would also be a nice break in style."
All the details that were then added were simply the result of the moment. Just like female energy should be, right?
A seemingly chaotic energy that unfolds freely and should not be subject to any norms. Like the oceans, like water. It can be so gentle, soothingly cool in warm summer times. However, water can be just as raging, powerful and destructive.
Still waters run deep, as the saying goes.

Zu meiner Reihe "Portrait einer Frau" reiht sich heute meine Interpretation unserer Ozeane und Meere. Ja, oftmals wird das Element Wasser als Göttin repräsentiert bzw. dem weiblichen Aspekt zugeordnet. Manche Kulturen nennen den Ozean auch sowas wie "Mutter Meer".
An sich dachte ich beim zeichnen "hach, cool. Heute mache ich es kurz, schnell und schmerzlos!" Doch ich saß nun den ganzen Tag fast dran. In etwa 8 Stunden meditatives zeichnen und in das Bild versunken.
Selbst wenn ich wollte, ich könnte gar nicht meine Gedanken wieder herstellen, welche ich währenddessen hatte. Zuerst wollte ich lediglich einfache Line Art machen. Dann schlicht das Füll-Werkzeug und fertig.
Beim zeichnen dachte ich sowas wie "Hm, ich könnte ja das Gesicht feiner machen und den Rest grob lassen, das wäre auch ein netter Stilbruch."
Was dann alles an Details noch dazu kam war einfach aus dem Moment heraus. Genauso wie weibliche Energie sein sollte oder?
Eine scheinbar chaotische Energie, welche sich frei entfaltet und keinen Normen unterliegen sollte. So wie die Meere, wie Wasser. Es kann so sanft sein, wohltuend kühl in warmen Sommerzeiten. Jedoch kann Wasser genauso tobend, kraftvoll und zerstörerisch Wirken.
Stille Wasser sind tief, sagt man auch nicht umsonst.

Erst die Skizze wie immer. Hat ein bisschen länger gedauert wie sonst. Vielleicht 3 Stunden. Ich habe nicht auf die Uhr geschaut dabei.
After I have chosen a background color which fits better to the topic of water and ocean... 😅
I started coloring and some more finer work.
Nachdem ich eine Hintergrundfarbe gewählt hatte, die besser zum Thema Wasser und Meer passt... 😅
habe ich mit dem Einfärben begonnen und noch ein paar feinere Arbeiten gemacht.
