CYBERPUNK
Cyberpunk presents a dystopian future. While other fiction dystopias like 1984 presents the fear of totalitarianism and the government control of population, the cyberpunk fiction is the fear of a wild capitalism, where big corporations has grown up and the rich live in closed communities with all the luxury, while the main population live as outsiders and homeless people, but the main factor of social status here is the access to technology. In cyberpunk tales, the posthuman is introduced to readers, the human who is integrated with machines and digital enhancements. The cyberpunk heroes are misfits, hackers, and anarchists who know how to ride inside the cyberspace and virtual reality, and fight to steal from the corporations big secrets.
Examples: Ghost in the Shell, Matrix, Neuromancer, Robocop, Alita.
el Cyberpunk presenta un futuro distópico. Mientras que otras distopías de ficción como 1984 presenta el miedo al totalitarismo y al control gubernamental de la población, la ficción cyberpunk es el miedo a un capitalismo salvaje, donde las grandes corporaciones han crecido y los ricos viven en comunidades cerradas con todo el lujo, mientras la población principal vive como forasteros y personas sin hogar, pero el principal factor de estatus social aquí es el acceso a la tecnología. We have here big machines with pipes that emanate clouds of steam from big copper chimneys, beautiful constructs full of ornamentals, wheels and clocks and gears. This style is marked by elegance and inventive.
Examples: Wild wild west, Jules Verne books, Back to the future III, Penny Dreadful, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
El steampunk presenta un escenario diferente, un pasado alternativo: ¿y si en la época victoriana tuvieran una tecnología avanzada pero utilizando los elementos de esa época? Aquí tenemos grandes máquinas con tuberías que emanan nubes de vapor de grandes chimeneas de cobre, hermosas construcciones llenas de ornamentales, ruedas, relojes y engranajes. Este estilo está marcado por la elegancia y la inventiva.

DIESEL PUNK
And finally, we are in the diesel era. This trend of fiction generally took elements from the world war I and II. It combines the aesthetics of the diesel-based technology with retro futurism and art deco. You will see here big engines roaming, machine guns and gas masks.
While steampunk is very optimistic and elegant, Diselpunk is more pessimist, since the scenario is now a world convoluted by war and hunger.
If you like giant and heavy metal machines, take a look to this trend.
examples: The Man in the High Castle, Rocketeer, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Captain America: The First Avenger, Iron Sky.
Y finalmente, estamos en la era del diesel. Esta corriente de ficción generalmente toma elementos de la Primera y Segunda Guerra Mundial. Combina la estética de la tecnología basada en diesel con el retro futurismo y el art deco. Aquí verás grandes motores en movimiento, ametralladoras y máscaras de gas.
Mientras que el steampunk es muy optimista y elegante, Diselpunk es más pesimista, ya que el escenario ahora es un mundo enredado por la guerra y el hambre.
