This is my entry for 
The theme is BIRDS OF THE WORLD and I simply cannot miss it. You know how much I love the birds, watching and photographing them. Now, the question is which bird to choose to represent my country. Moreover, I have to choose a photo that I haven't used by far.
There are many birds I have encountered. Some are living permanently here, others are migratory and they stay in spring and summer only. Each bird can be a good representative.
My choice will be the bird that made me passionate about birding - the woodpecker. And here it is - the green woodpecker.
This first image is my entry. This is a very nice male bird. How to determine it? Look at the red moustache. This is characteristic for the male green woodpecker.
The woodpeckers are constantly living in our park and they were the very first birds I was tempting to photograph. Soon I realised that there are many other birds that caught my attention. But I always look for the woodies.
