The Hidden Blade 2004 - a Japanese romantic drama with samurai.
Honestly at first, i was reluctant about this movie, thinking it was going to be super boring .... Yep, i still gave it a little chance and to see that i was pleasantly impressed. Yep, from my point of view, it is well worth seeing by fans of the genre, having many beautifully done scenes, alternating drama and even romance. The film i recommend is a much better Japanese romantic samurai drama than Kurosawa's genre films. This movie directed by Yoji Yamada is one of the best Japanese movies i've ever seen. Even though it was a bit melodramatic for my honest taste, i was pleasantly impressed after seeing it, the actors are very good.
In general i don't usually like to watch romantic Japanese movies. I'm the type who likes the action or plot to be exposed at a fairly alert pace that keeps you in suspense all the time. Okay, i mean the emblematic ones of the genre with martial arts or sword fights, shuriken with lots, lots of punches and kicks or kicks or whatever you want to call them.
A little synopsis
Near the Meiji restoration, Munezo Katagiri, a samurai from a lower caste, secretly in love with the maid Kie, finds himself caught unawares in political clashes between clans. When he is ordered to kill his friend, convicted of organizing a plot, Munezo does not know how to reconcile his duty as a warrior with loyalty to his comrade, but also with an impossible love.

The film is not boring at all, impressed for not knowing how many times of Japanese culture - I liked the movie, even if the ending is too sad. The power of silence and intense feelings are at home. Worth seeing - you will not be disappointed.
